September 12, 2024
Today, we have a 5-game MLB slate on DraftKings, starting at 6:45 p.m. ET. Check out my favorite players at each position, value plays, and stacks! Our partners at DFSHero.com provide us with access to their lineup optimizer and AI simulator, which we use to provide you with the best DFS plays every day!
SP:
Bryce Miller, Mariners (DK: $9,200 | FD: $10,300)
Nestor Cortes Jr., Yankees (DK: $8,000 | FD: $9,200)
Notes: The DFS Hero Optimizer projects these two to be the top-scoring pitchers. Miller has the better matchup, and hopefully, Cortes throws enough junk to keep the Red Sox hitters off balance.
Stacks
Nationals
Brewers
Catchers:
Austin Wells, Yankees (DK: $4,400 | FD: $2,900)
Keibert Ruiz, Nationals (DK: $4,100 | FD: $2,500)
Notes: Wells and Ruiz are projected to finish in the top 4 in catcher scoring. I don’t want to pay up for William Contreras unless I am playing a Brewer stack.
First Base:
Jake Burger, Marlins (DK: $4,800 | FD: $3,000)
Yandy Diaz, Rays (DK: $4,800 | FD: $3,100)
Notes: Burger and Diaz are projected to be the top two scoring first basemen. You can play Burger at third as well.
Second Base:
Gleyber Torres, Yankees (DK: $3,800 | FD: $2,900)
Notes: Torres is projected to be the top-scoring second baseman on the slate. He is priced under 4K, giving him exceptional value. He is my lock player on the slate.
Third Base:
Matt Chapman, Giants (DK: $4,500 | FD: $3,200)
Connor Norby, Marlins (DK: $4,200 | FD: No Play)
Notes: I am trying to avoid paying more than 5K for a third baseman. The DFS Hero Optimizer projects these two as the most valued at this position priced over 4K.
Shortstop:
CJ Abrams, Nationals (DK: $5,800 | FD: $3,300)
Willy Adames, Brewers (DK: $4,700 | FD: $3,700)
Notes: The top two projected short stops. I love Abrams tonight and to get him in my lineup, I am not paying the high prices anywhere else.
Outfielders:
Juan Soto, Yankees, (DK: $6,400 | FD: $4,500)
Giancarlo Stanton, Yankees (DK: $4,800 | FD: $3,100)
Julio Rodriguez, Mariners (DK: $4,500 | FD: $3,200)
Jackson Chourio, Brewers (DK: $4,400 | FD: $3,300)
Notes: Soto is the top projected outfielder on the slate. The other three are the top-valued 4K outfielders. I love Chourio, and I think he brings back exceptional value tonight.
Value Plays:
SS Taylor Walls, Rays (DK: $2,700 | FD: $2,600)
1B Joey Gallo, Nationals (DK: $2,800 | FD: $2,500)
3B Jose Tena, Nationals (DK: $2,900 | FD: $2,400)
C Patrick Bailey, Giants (DK: $3,000 | FD: $2,400)
OF Garrett Mitchell, Brewers (DK: $3,000 | FD: $2,400)
OF Mike Yastrzemski, Giants (DK: $3,100 | FD: $2,600)
SP Gavin Williams, Guardians (DK: $7,400 | FD: $7,500)
Notes: These are among the top valued players at their position according to the DFS Hero Optimizer. Gallo is a boom-or-bust player; he may strike out 4 times, but he isn’t facing a strikeout pitcher. Tena has been scoring double digits routinely. All Brewers should be considered, especially the cheap players like Mitchell. Bailey and Yaz can win you a tournament like last night. Let’s hope they stay hot for one more game. Williams is a boom-or-bust pitcher. He can get you 25, or he can get you -11, but he makes value 50% of the time he pitches.
