The game is played first. Every number comes from it.
Before lock, every game on the slate is played 10,000 times: at-bat by at-bat, possession by possession, drive by drive. For every player, the Hero Projection is the average of those games. The percentile outlook and the correlation heatmap come from the same games. And when you simulate a contest, those players are scored inside them, so a stack wins together or loses together, the way it does on game day.

Twenty past slates. One run. A verdict.
The first DFS tool that backtests a whole playbook. Everywhere else, a backtest is one slate at a time: load the slate, apply the settings, read the result, repeat. Playbook Replay runs your playbook on up to 20 past slates in one run, end to end on each, and scores every entry against the real contest leaderboard and payouts.
You get a ledger: profit, ROI, cash rate, best finish, and, from three scored slates, a plain answer on whether to keep running it, with the sample size stated. When one slate carried most of the return, it says so.
