July 10, 2024

Today, we have a 10-game MLB slate on DraftKings, starting at 7:05 p.m. ET. Check out my favorite players at each position, value plays, and stacks! Our partners at DFSHero.com provide us with access to their lineup optimizer and AI simulator, which we use to provide you with the best DFS plays every day!
SP:
Nick Pivetta, Boston Red Sox (FD:$9,000 | DK:$9,600)
Chris Bassitt, Toronto Blue Jays (FD:$9,100 | DK:$8,500)
Framber Valdez, Houston Astros (FD:$9,800 | DK:$8,300)
Notes: Pivetta is in an excellent matchup tonight against the Oakland A’s. He has great strikeout stuff, and he can exploit a free-swinging lineup. Valdez also has a great matchup against the Marlins, who are one of the worst offenses in MLB right now. Bassitt is the top-ranked SP on the DFS Hero Optimizer, with a 21% optimal percentage and a leverage score of five.
Top Stacks:
New York Mets vs. Washington Nationals
Cincinnati Reds vs. Colorado Rockies
Notes: The Mets are in a great matchup tonight against LHP Patrick Corbin. Corbin is 1-8 with a 5.49 ERA and 1.53 WHIP this season in 18 starts. Look to stack many Mets righties. The Reds are also in an amazing spot tonight. They are at home in the Great American “Small Park,” and they face Kyle Freeland, who has been a disaster on the road this season. Freeland has an 11.94 road ERA with a 2.37 WHIP and .402 BAA.
C:
Francisco Alvarez, New York Mets (FD:$2,700 | DK:$4,200)
Tyler Stephenson, Cincinnati Reds (FD:$2,500 | DK:$3,600)
Salvador Perez, Kansas City Royals (FD: N/A | DK:$4,900)
Notes: Stephenson is a nice cheap option in the Reds stack tonight, and he faces a lefty, so he might even bat in the clean-up spot. Alvarez and Perez are the top two ranked catchers on the DFS Hero Optimizer tonight, and Alvarez can also be used as part of the Mets stack. The ownership on Perez is expected to be less than 5%, which can give you leverage against the playing field.
1B:
Pete Alonso, New York Mets (FD:$3,200 | DK:$5,200)
Jeimer Candelario, Cincinnati Reds (FD:$3,100 | DK:$4,300)
Jon Singleton, Houston Astros (FD:$2,400 | DK:$3,200)
Notes: Alonso is the second-ranked 1B on the DFS Hero Simulator tonight. Candelario is one of two 1B options in the Reds stack, but the other is Steer, which can be used in the OF. Singleton caught my eye on the Simulator, as it gives him a 31.8% chance to 3X tonight.
2B:
Jonathan India, Cincinnati Reds (FD:$3,100 | DK:$4,300)
Keston Hiura, Los Angeles Angels (FD:$2,000 | DK:$2,400)
Jose Iglesias, New York Mets (FD:$2,400 | DK:$3,200)
Notes: Iglesias is a cheap option in the Mets stacks against a LHP. India will be highly owned tonight if he is able to play with his knee injury, but he has been hitting very well lately, and he’s in a great matchup against a struggling lefty and a terrible bullpen. Hiura is one of the favorites of the Simulator tonight. He is being given a 52.7% chance to 3X and a 38% chance to 4X.
3B:
Mark Vientos, New York Mets (FD:$3,000 | DK:$4,400)
Enrique Hernandez, Los Angeles Dodgers (FD:$2,400 | DK:$2,700)
Noelvi Marte, Cincinnati Reds (FD:$2,600 | DK:$3,400)
Notes: Vientos is an elite power bat, especially against LHP, so I suggest getting him into a bunch of different lineups. Marte is a cheap option in the Reds stack and I have an even cheaper option for you in the value plays below. Hernandez is the second-ranked 3B on the DFS Hero Optimizer. He is very cheap, projected to have less than 4% ownership and has the highest leverage score at the position.
SS:
Francisco Lindor, New York Mets (FD:$3,500 | DK:$5,300)
Elly De La Cruz, Cincinatti Reds (FD:$4,300 | DK:$6,400)
Ceddanne Rafaela, Boston Red Sox (FD:$3,000 | DK:$4,000)
Notes: Lindor and Elly are two of the top hitters in baseball right now and with them both being in my top stacks, it’s likely that they will be my only choices at SS tonight. With that being said, not everyone will want to go with those stacks, so another option is Rafaela, who is listed as the fourth most optimal SS tonight on the DFS Hero Optimizer, and he has the third-highest leverage score at the position.
OF:
Spencer Steer, Cincinnati Reds (FD:$3,600 | DK:$5,000)
J.D. Martinez, New York Mets (FD:$3,200 | DK:$4,800)
Brandon Nimmo, New York Mets (FD:$3,300 | DK:$5,100)
Harrison Bader, New York Mets (FD:$2,600 | DK:$4,000)
Wyatt Langford, Texas Rangers (FD:$3,000 | DK:$4,000)
Notes: Steer and Martinez are ranked number two and three for OF on the DFS Hero Simulator. Nimmo has been hot over his past 10 games. Bader gets a LHP, and both can be used in the Mets stack. Langford has a 35% chance to 3X tonight, according to the Simulator.
Value Players:
1B Rowdy Tellez, Pittsburgh Pirates (FD:$2,800 | DK:$3,300)
3B Santiago Espinal, Cincinnati Reds (FD:$2,300 | DK:$2,400)
OF Blake Perkins, Milwaukee Brewers (FD:$2,900 | DK:$3,200)
Notes: The DFS Hero Simulator gives Perkins a 35% chance to 3X tonight. Espinal is very cheap in the Reds stack, and with a lefty on the mound, there’s a good chance he will be in tonight’s lineup. Tellez has been red hot, batting .367 with five HR and 10 RBI in his past 10 games. The Simulator gives him a 29% chance to 3.5X tonight.
