FREE 7/11 MLB Cheat Sheet: Top DFS Plays
July 11, 2024

Today, we have a 7-game MLB slate on DraftKings, starting at 6:05 p.m. ET. Check out my favorite players at each position, value plays, and stacks! Our partners at DFSHero.com provide us with access to their lineup optimizer and AI simulator, which we use to provide you with the best DFS plays every day!
SP:
Tanner Houck, Red Sox (DK: $9,500 | FD: $10,200)
Luis Castillo, Mariners (DK: $9,200 | FD: $9,300)
Aaron Nola, Phillies (DK: $8,600 | FD: $9,500)
Notes: I am a believer in paying up for pitching tonight. Houck has a great matchup, and the DFS Hero Optimizer projects that he will be the top-scoring pitcher. Castillo has been up and down but is coming off a great performance. Nola has the toughest matchup out of the three but he is the most consistent and little bit cheaper.
Stacks:
Boston Red Sox vs. Oakland Athletics
Philadelphia Phillies vs. Los Angeles Dodgers
Chicago Cubs vs. Baltimore Orioles
Notes: The Optimizer projects both the Red Sox and Phillies to score over five runs. I like the Red Sox more as they face SP Luis Medina with a projected strong wind blowing out of left center. The Optimizer predicts the Cubs as the sneaky stack with the slate’s most value.
C:
Cal Raleigh, Mariners (DK: $4,500 | FD: $3,100)
Mitch Garver, Mariners (DK: $3,700 | FD: $2,800)
Notes: Raleigh was projected to have the most fantasy points at catcher two nights ago and came through with 39 points. He is back in that spot again as the projected top catcher. Meanwhile, Garver is projected to finish second and is the better value. Provided they both play, you can get all the leverage by playing them both in an FD lineup.
1B:
Bryce Harper, Phillies (DK: $5,700 | FD: $3,900)
Yandy Diaz, Rays (DK: $4,100 | FD: $3,000)
Notes: Harper was held out Wednesday night but is projected to play tonight. He is projected to be the top-scoring first baseman according to the DFS Hero Optimizer. I agree, as I think he is going to be an extremely tough out for SP Landon Knack. Diaz has solid value vs. SP Nestor Cortes batting in the lead-off spot.
2B:
Jose Altuve, Astros (DK: $5,300 | FD: $3,800)
Nico Hoerner, Cubs (DK: $4,000 | FD: $2,800)
Notes: Altuve is projected to be the highest-scoring second baseman. Hoerner is starting to heat up with nine-plus fantasy points in three straight games.
3B:
Rafael Devers, Red Sox (DK $6,200 | FD: $4,300)
Alex Bregman, Astros (DK: $4,300 | FD: $3,300)
Notes: Devers is my favorite spend-up option tonight. The DFS Hero Optimizer agrees as they have him projected as the top scoring third baseman. Bregman is projected to finish second behind Devers and has more projected value.
SS:
Trea Turner, Phillies (DK: $6,000 | FD: $3,700)
David Hamilton, Red Sox (DK: $4,700 | FD: $3,100)
Notes: Turner is the projected top-scoring shortstop and is batting a whopping .345. Hamilton is projected third, and he is my SS of choice. I think he may have a huge night by having multiple hits and stealing bags.
OF:
Kyle Schwarber, Phillies (DK: $5,600 | FD: $3,700)
Tyler O’Neill, Red Sox (DK: $5,300 | FD: $3,500)
Luke Raley, Mariners (DK: $4,200 | FD: $2,700)
JJ Bleday, Athletics (DK: $3,700 | FD: $2,900)
Notes: If I am paying up for pitching and Devers, I must fade Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani. The DFS Hero Optimizer projects these outfielders to hit well, with Raley having the most value out of the four.
Value Players:
OF Lawrence Butler, Athletics (DK: $2,500 | FD: $2,500)
SS Xavier Edwards, Marlins (DK: $2,600 | FD: No Play)
OF Joey Loperfido, Astros (DK: $2,800 | FD: $2,700)
3B/SS Amed Rosario, Rays (DK: $3,300 | FD: $2,600)
2B Jorge Polanco, Mariners (DK: $3,300 | FD: $2,500)
1B/3B Jake Burger, Marlins (DK: $3,400 | FD: $2,700)
SS Dansby Swanson, Cubs (DK: $3,500 | FD: $2,700)
C Sean Murphy, Braves (DK: $3,500 | FD: $2,800)
SP Jack Kochanowicz, Angels (DK: $4,000 | FD: No Play)
SP Brandon Pfaadt, Diamondbacks (DK: $7,300 | FD: No Play)
Notes: As mentioned, pitching is premium tonight, and I will need to find two value players to fill my lineups. According to the optimizer, these players have solid projections and values. When I make my lineup projections, Polanco interests me a lot because the optimizer has him near the top of value among all the hitters. Plus, he can be stacked with the Seattle catchers, or he fits well in one-offs in Red Sox and Phillies Stacks.
