July 12, 2024

Today, we have a 12-game MLB slate on DraftKings, starting at 7:05 p.m. ET. Check out my favorite players at each position, value plays, and stacks! Our partners at DFSHero.com provide us with access to their lineup optimizer and AI simulator, which we use to provide you with the best DFS plays every day!
SP:
Garrett Crochet, Chicago White Sox (FD:$11,000 | DK:$10,300)
Joe Ryan, Minnesota Twins (FD:$9,800 | DK:$9,800)
Sean Manaea, New York Mets (FD:$8,800 | DK:$8,600)
Carson Spiers, Cincinnati Reds (FD:$8,000 | DK:$7,000)
Notes: The DFS Hero Optimizer ranks Manaea and Crochet as their top two SPs for tonight’s slate. They have the highest value scores and are the most optimal as well. Their projected ownership is high, though, so pivoting to one of Ryan, who is the fifth-ranked pitcher on the Optimizer, or to Spiers, who has a good matchup vs. Miami, is a solid choice.
Top Stacks:
Milwaukee Brewers vs. Washington Nationals
New York Yankees vs. Baltimore Orioles
St. Louis Cardinals vs. Chicago Cubs
Notes: The Brewers stack is a clear favorite tonight. They face Jackson Rutledge, who has struggled big time in the minors this season with a 6.66 ERA and 1.66 WHIP. The Brewers are one of the best teams in the NL, so this should be a smash spot. The Yankees face Cade Povich, who has struggled lately, and the Orioles pitching staff as a whole has struggled lately, too. The Cardinals lineup can be hit or miss from night to night, but they are in a great spot tonight against Kyle Hendricks, who is 1-7 this season with a 7.53 ERA and 1.58 WHIP.
C:
William Contreras, Milwaukee Brewers (FD:$3,000 | DK:$5,500)
Wilson Contreras, St. Louis Cardinals (FD:$3,500 | DK:$4,800)
Sean Murphy, Atlanta Braves (FD: $2,800 | DK:$4,900)
Notes: Both Wilson and William can be used in my stop stacks tonight. Williams is the second-ranked catcher on the DFS Hero Optimizer, however, he is very expensive. Murphy is a cheap option and is rated as the top catcher on the Optimizer tonight, with a 12% optimal percentage and the highest leverage score as well.
1B:
Paul Goldschmidt, St. Louis Cardinals (FD:$2,900 | DK:$4,300)
Rhys Hoskins, Milwaukee Brewers (FD:$2,800 | DK:$4,200)
Josh Bell, Miami Marlins (FD:$2,500 | DK:$3,600)
Notes: Goldschmidt is the second-ranked 1B tonight on the DFS Hero Simulator. They give him a 25% chance to 3X as well. Hoskins is a nice power bat in the Brewers stack, and you can also consider Jake Bauers. Bell is intriguing tonight because the Simulator gives him a 37% chance to 3X and a 20.5% chance to 4X.
2B:
Gleyber Torres, New York Yankees (FD:$2,500 | DK:$3,500)
Brice Turang, Milwaukee Brewers (FD:$2,800 | DK:$4,800)
Nolan Gorman, St. Louis Cardinals (FD:$2,800 | DK:$3,900)
Notes: All three players can be used in my stacks tonight. Torres is incredibly cheap, the fifth-highest-rated 2B on the DFS Hero Simulator, and is being given a 33% chance to 3X tonight. Turang is expensive, as are many of the Brewers, so he doesn’t have a lot of value. Gorman has a 28.5% chance to 3X tonight.
3B:
Oswaldo Cabrera, New York Yankees (FD:$2,400 | DK:$2,600)
Nolan Arenado, St. Louis Cardinals (FD:$3,00 | DK:$4,000)
Eugenio Suarez, Arizona Diamondbacks (FD:$2,800 | DK:$3,400)
Notes: Cabrera is the third-ranked 3B on the DFS Hero Optimizer tonight and has the second-highest leverage score at the position. His cheap price also makes him very valuable because it will help you pay up for the big bats. Arenado should be used if you decide to stack Cardinals tonight, and Suarez has a low projected ownership tonight, according to the Optimizer, and he is always a threat to hit a HR.
SS:
Anthony Volpe, New York Yankees (FD:$2,900 | DK:$4,200)
Willy Adames, Milwaukee Brewers (FD:$3,100 | DK:$4,600)
Masyn Winn, St. Louis Cardinals (FD:$2,700 | DK:$4,200)
Notes: Volpe is one of the right-handed hitters I like in the Yankees stack tonight against the lefty Povich. Adames is the third-ranked SS on the DFS Hero Simulator, and he has a 25% chance to 3X. His ownership is projected only at 5% which is surprising because he is one of the big bats in the Brewers stack. Winn is having an excellent rookie season, and like Adames, he has a 25% chance to 3X tonight.
OF:
Aaron Judge, New York Yankees (FD:$4,500 | DK:$6,600)
Juan Soto, New York Yankees (FD:$4,300 | DK:$6,200)
Christian Yelich, Milwaukee Brewers (FD:$3,900 | DK:$5,800)
Alec Burleson, St. Louis Cardinals (FD:$2,800 | DK:$4,100)
Jackson Chourio, Milwaukee Brewers (FD:$2,700 | DK:$3,800)
Brenton Doyle, Colorado Rockies (FD:$3,400 | DK:$4,300)
Notes: Everyone listed except for Doyle can be used in my top stacks tonight. Judge and Soto are very expensive; however, in stacking Yankees, they always need to be considered. Yelich is a must-use player if you decide to go with the Brewers tonight. Burleson is the third-ranked OF on the DFS Hero Optimizer and is a solid option in the Cardinals OF. I have Doyle on here tonight because he hits LHP well, and the Optimizer gives him the second-highest leverage score of any OF on this slate.
Value Players:
C Jose Trevino, New York Yankees (FD:$2,500 | DK:$3,400)
3B Jake Burger, Miami Marlins (FD:$2,700 | DK:$3,400)
OF Sal Frelick, Milwaukee Brewers (FD:$2,600 | DK:$3,400)
Notes: Frelick and Trevino are two very cheap options in my top stacks tonight. They will provide salary relief, which is desperately needed with so many expensive bats. Burger is cheap, but more importantly, he is the second-highest rated 3B on the DFS Hero Simulator. He has an impressive 42% chance to 3X tonight and a 26% chance to 4X.
