7/27 MLB Cheat Sheet: Top DFS Plays

SP:

• Blake Snell, San Francisco Giants (FD:$8,100 | DK:$8,000)
• Aaron Civale, Milwaukee Brewers (FD:$8,000 | DK:$6,200)
• Bryan Woo, Cleveland Guardians (FD:$9,000 | DK:$8,300)

Notes: These guys are today’s first, second, and fourth-ranked SP on the DFS Hero Optimizer. Woo is my favorite of the three due to his elite matchup against the White Sox, who rank 30th in MLB in runs, OBP, and SLG. They rank 29th in hits and average and 28th in HR. As you can see, this is a bad lineup.

Top Stacks:

• Boston Red Sox vs. New York Yankees
• Oakland Athletics vs. Tyler Anderson

Notes: The Red Sox lineup has been very good lately, especially at home. They face Marcus Stroman and the Yankees in what should be a high-scoring game. Stroman had a tough outing vs. Boston already this season, and the Yankees bullpen has been atrocious for nearly two months now. With the A’s, I think they will be a low-owned stack, but their offense has been good lately. They have some good right-handed hitters to stack against the lefty Anderson.

C:

• Connor Wong, Boston Red Sox (FD:$3,000 | DK:$3,900)
• Shea Langeliers, Oakland Athletics (FD:$2,900 | DK:$4,500)
• Gabriel Moreno, Arizona Diamondbacks (FD:$2,800 | DK:$3,500)

Notes: Wong can be used in the Red Sox stack and hits in the middle of their lineup. Langeliers has big-time power, and against a lefty, he should be hitting in the clean-up spot tonight. Moreno is facing a lefty tonight, which is a good matchup for him, and he is the third-ranked catcher on the DFS Hero Optimizer today.

1B:

• Shohei Ohtani, Los Angeles Dodgers (FD:$4,700 | DK:$6,600)
• Christian Walker, Arizona Diamondbacks (FD:$3,700 | DK:$5,200)
• Juan Yepez, Washington Nationals (FD:$3,200 | DK:$3,400)

Notes: Ohtani is the top-ranked 1B on the Optimizer tonight, and Walker is the 4th-ranked option. The player I like the most is Yepez, based on his price and how he’s been hitting. He is batting .421 with five doubles, two HR, eight RBI, and nine runs in his past ten games. 

2B:

• Zack Gelof, Oakland Athletics (FD:$2,900 | DK:$3,300)
• David Hamilton, Boston Red Sox (FD:$2,900 | DK:$4,800)
• Jose Altuve, Houston Astros (FD:$3,800 | DK:$5,500)

Notes: Altuve and Gelof are ranked as the number-two and number-three options at 2B tonight on the DFS Hero Simulator. Gelof, because of his low price, is also given a 37% chance to 3X and a 30% chance to 3.5X. Hamilton is an exciting young hitter who steals plenty of bases and can be used in the Red Sox stack.

3B:

• Rafael Devers, Boston Red Sox (FD:$3,900 | DK:$6,000)
• Brett Harris, Oakland Athletics (FD:$2,300 | DK:$2,200)
• Alex Bregman, Houston Astros (FD:$3,300 | DK:$4,400)

Notes: Bregman has been hitting better lately and is in a good matchup tonight against a lefty. Devers is my favorite player at the position; however, he is expensive, so a pivot to Harris or Bregman isn’t a bad option. The DFS Hero Optimizer has Devers ranked as their third-best option at the position today, and they also like Harris, giving him the highest value score of any player at the position.

SS:

• Ceddanne Rafaela, Boston Red Sox (FD:$2,800 | DK:$4,200)
• Ezequiel Tovar, Colorado Rockies (FD:$3,200 | DK:$3,800)
• Max Schuemann, Oakland Athletics (FD:$2,800 | DK:$3,000)

Notes: Rafaela has had a great season against the Yankees this year with five runs, three homers, seven RBI, and a .370 average in seven games. He hit a big homer last night, too. Schuemann is a cheap option in the A’s stack, and the DFS Hero Simulator gives him a 32% chance of being 3X tonight. Tovar is usually forgotten when the Rockies are on the road, so I think he will be low-owned. The Simulator also gives him a 32% chance to 3X tonight.

OF:

• Jarren Duran, Boston Red Sox (FD:$3,900 | DK:$5,800)
• Tyler O’Neil, Boston Red Sox (FD:$3,600 | DK:$5,300)
• Brent Rooker, Oakland Athletics (FD:$3,900 | DK:$5,700)
• Lawrence Butler, Oakland Athletics (FD:$3,400 | DK:$3,700)
• Yordan Alvarez, Houston Astros (FD:$4,000 | DK:$5,500)
• Miguel Andujar, Oakland Athletics (FD:$2,700 | DK:$4,400)
• Wilyer Abreu, Boston Red Sox (FD:$2,800 | DK:$4,100)

Notes: Everyone except for Yordan can be used in my top stacks today. Yordan is ranked as the number-two OF on the DFS Hero Simulator and has one of the highest projected ceilings at the position. Of all the A’s and Red Sox OFs listed, Butler is the favorite of the Simulator. He is given a 39% chance to 3X and a 31% chance to 3.5X.

Value Players:

• 1B/SS Romy Gonzalez, Boston Red Sox (FD:$2,400 | DK:$3,400)
• 2B Jorge Polanco, Seattle Mariners (FD:$2,600 | DK:$3,200)
• OF Trent Grisham, New York Yankees (FD:$2,400 | DK:$3,100)

Notes: Gonzalez is batting over .300 in his past 10 games and is a solid cheap option in a Red Sox stack. According to the DFS Hero Simulator, Polanco has a 38% chance to 3X tonight and a 30% chance to 3.5X. Grisham continues to play every day, thanks to his elite defense in CF. Although the bat is inconsistent, the Simulator likes him today, giving him a 49% chance to 3X and a 42% chance to 3.5X.
