FREE 8/13 MLB Cheat Sheet: Top DFS Plays

SP:

Michael King, Padres (DK: $9,500 | FD: $9,800)

Kevin Gausman, Blue Jays (DK: $9,000 | FD: $8.800)

Nestor Cortez, Yankees (DK: $8,400 | FD: $8,600)

Notes: The DFS Hero Optimizer projects these three to be the top-scoring pitchers on the board. King is the top pitcher and projected almost four points higher than Gausman, who is second.

Stacks:

New York Yankees vs. Chicago White Sox

Toronto Blue Jays vs. Los Angeles Angels

Notes: The Yankees have the highest projected run value, while the Blue Jays have the highest projected stack value. I am expecting a ton of runs from across all MLB tonight, but I think the Yankees could score 10 plus.

C:

Austin Wells, Yankees (DK: $4,000 | FD: $2,900)

Connor Wong, Red Sox (DK: $3,900 | FD: $2,900)

Notes: Wells is projected to lead all catchers in scoring and has among the top value at catcher. Wong is a solid pivot and will have much less ownership than Wells.

1B:

Shoehei Ohtani, Dodgers (DK: $6,600 | FD: $4,600)

Freddie Freeman, Dodgers (DK: $5,100 | FD: $3,700)

Notes: One, if not both, of the first basemen should go off tonight. Ohtani is projected to have more points, but Freeman has more projected value.

2B:

Marcus Semien, Rangers (DK: $4,800 | FD: $3,300)

Willi Castro, Twins (DK: $4,600 | FD: $3,100)

Notes: Semien is projected to lead all second basemen in scoring. Castro is third but will be less than 3% owned.

3B:

Royce Lewis, Twins (DK: $4,900 | FD: $4,000)

Josh Jung, Rangers (DK: $4,300 | FD: $3,100)

Notes: Lewis should be priced at $5.5 K. He will dominate most of my lineups any time he is at this price. He is also the top projected third baseman as well. Jung will be much lower owned and it’s just a matter of time before he gets hot.

SS:

Corey Seager, Rangers (DK: $5,400 | FD: $3,500)

Francisco Lindor, Mets (DK: $5,200 | FD: $3,800)

Notes: Seager is the top projected SS if Witt is out, and Lindor has a great matchup and will be <9% owned.

OF:

Juan Soto, Yankees (DK: $6,400 | FD: $4,300)

Giancarlo Stanton, Yankees (DK: $4,700 | FD: $3,100)

Teoscar Hernandez, Dodgers (DK: $4,700 | FD: $3,700)

J.D. Martinez, Mets (DK: $4,600 | FD: $2,900)

Notes: Aaron Judge is the highest projected scoring outfielder, but his price doesn’t give him the value of these four, who are all projected in the top 10.

Value Players:

C Korey Lee, White Sox (DK: $2,300 | FD: $2,500)

C Jonah Heim, Rangers (DK: $3,000 | FD: $2,700)

3B/SS Ernie Clement (DK: $3,000 | FD: $2,500)

OF Alex Verdugo, Yankees (DK: $3,300 | FD: $2,800)

1B/2B Spencer Horwitz, Blue Jays (DK: $3,500 | FD: $2,700)

OF Daulton Varsho, Blue Jays (DK: $3,500 | FD: $2,900)

2B Gleyber Torres, Yankees (DK: $3,600 | FD: $2,700)

1B Carlos Santana, Twins (DK: $3,600 | FD: $2,900)

SP Paul Blackburn, Mets (DK: $7,500 | FD: $8,300)

Notes: These are among the most valued players at their positions. The lower-priced Yankees look extra appealing, but ownership will be higher. Varsho and Horwitz are lower-owned stack options that I will play in a lineup or two.
