Today, we have a 10-game MLB slate on DraftKings, starting at 1:35 p.m. ET. Check out my favorite players at each position, value plays, and stacks! Our partners at DFSHero.com provide us access to their lineup optimizer and AI simulator, which we use to provide you with the best DFS plays daily!
SP:
- Nick Lodolo, Cincinnati Reds (FD:$9,900 | DK:$9,800)
- Mitch Keller, Pittsburgh Pirates (FD:$10,400 | DK:$9,600)
- Jameson Taillon, Chicago Cubs (FD:$9,000 | DK:$8,300)
- Jose Quintana, New York Mets (FD:$8,700 | DK:$7,900)
Notes: Lodolo and Keller have elite matchups today against the Marlins and White Sox, two of the worst teams in baseball. Taillon has pitched well recently, and he is streaky, so when he’s on, I like to use him until he isn’t. Quintana has been pitching great over his past few starts and is the highest-rated SP today on the DFS Hero Optimizer.
Top Stacks:
- Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Detroit Tigers
- Philadelphia Phillies vs. Oakland Athletics
Secondary Stack: Kansas City Royals vs. Boston Red Sox
Notes: The Dodgers are one of the best lineups in MLB, and today, they get a bullpen game vs. the Tigers. The Tigers bullpen has already worked a lot in this series, so this is an advantage for the Dodgers. The Phillies bats are hot again, and they take on Joey Estes, who was lit up for eight runs in 1.2 innings against the Red Sox. Estes has pitched well in Oakland this season, but today, he is on the road where he has a 9.11 ERA, 1.74 WHIP, and .314 BAA in seven starts. The Royals have a good lineup and aren’t as obvious of a stack as the Dodgers or Phillies. They face Brayan Bello today, who has been bad in Fenway this season with a 6.55 ERA, 1.72 WHIP, and .304 BAA.
C:
- Will Smith, Los Angeles Dodgers (FD:$3,600 | DK:$5,500)
- Francisco Alvarez, New York Mets (FD:$2,800 | DK:$4,300)
- Salvador Perez, Kansas City Royals (FD: $3,500 | DK:$4,800)
Notes: Will Smith needs to be considered if you are stacking Dodgers. He is also the second-highest-ranked catcher on the DFS Hero Optimizer today. Alvarez is one of the better offensive catchers in the league, and he is facing German Marquez, who hasn’t thrown a big league pitch yet this season. There are cheaper options in the values section, and Perez can be used at 1B if you want to use them there. Perez is the number one rated catcher on the DFS Hero Optimizer today with a 10.8% optimal percentage and 7.5 leverage score.
1B:
- Bryce Harper, Philadelphia Phillies (FD:$3,900 | DK:$5,800)
- Freddie Freeman, Los Angeles Dodgers (FD:$3,700 | DK:$5,500)
- Rowdy Tellez, Pittsburgh Pirates (FD:$2,800 | DK:$3,500)
Notes: Freeman and Harper are two of the best hitters in the Dodgers and Phillies stacks today, and they are also the number five and six ranked 1B today on the DFS Hero Simulator. Even at his high price tag, Harper still has a 25% chance to 3X today. Tellez has been on fire at the plate over his past 10 games, batting .324 with four HR and eight RBI. He should be in the lineup today against RHP Chad Kuhl.
2B:
- Bryson Stott, Philadelphia Phillies (FD:$3,100 | DK:$4,800)
- Colt Keith, Detroit Tigers (FD:$3,100 | DK:$3,500)
- Michael Massey, Kansas City Royals (FD:$3,100 | DK:$4,100)
Notes: Stott is the best of these three options but is also the most expensive and is projected to have the highest ownership, according to the Simulator. The Simulator gives Massey a 29% chance to 3X today, and they project his ownership to be around 7%. Keith is a personal favorite of mine today, as he has been hot at the plate and remains cheap.
3B:
- Alec Bohm, Philadelphia Phillies (FD:$3,300 | DK:$5,300)
- Rafael Devers, Boston Red Sox (FD:$4,100 | DK:$6,000)
Notes: The value section has two cheap options, but these are two of the best at the position night in and night out. Devers has been on fire over his past 10 games, while Bohm hasn’t been. However, Bohm can be used in the Phillies stack, and he has a higher leverage score on the DFS Hero Optimizer than Devers.
SS:
- Trea Turner, Philadelphia Phillies (FD:$3,900 | DK:$6,100)
- Ceddanne Rafaela, Boston Red Sox (FD:$2,900 | DK:$4,000)
- Bobby Witt Jr., Kansas City Royals (FD:$4,400 | DK:$6,400)
Notes: Trea Turner is on a huge heater right now, batting .366 with 10 runs, five HR, and 13 RBI over his past 10 games. Witt Jr has been one of the best SS all season, and he, too, is on a heater over his past 10 games. Of course, Witt and Trea can be used in my stacks today. Rafaela has been solid at the plate lately, as well. He is much cheaper than Turner and Witt, and the DFS Hero Optimizer gives him the second-highest leverage score at the position.
OF:
- Shohei Ohtani, Los Angeles Dodgers (FD:$4,800 | DK:$6,500)
- Kyle Schwarber, Philadelphia Phillies (FD:$3,800 | DK:$5,500)
- Teoscar Hernandez, Los Angeles Dodgers (FD:$3,400 | DK:$4,900)
- Nick Castellanos, Philadelphia Phillies (FD:$2,800 | DK:$4,200)
- Andy Pages, Los Angeles Dodgers (FD:$2,700 | DK:$3,900)
- Brandon Marsh, Philadelphia Phillies (FD:$2,900 | DK:$4,000)
- MJ Melendez, Kansas City Royals (FD:$2,900 | DK:$3,500)
Notes: These are all players you should target within my stacks today. The two top Dodgers OF listed here are highly rated on the Simulator. The Simulator has Castellanos and Schwarber with over 25% chance of 3X today. Some extras for you today are Jazz Chisolm and Jack Suwinski. The Simulator rates them as the number two and number four OF, with Jazz having a 31.6% chance of 3X and Suwinski having a 40% chance of 3X.
Value Players:
- C Freddy Fermin, Kansas City Royals (FD:$2,600 | DK:$3,100)
- 2B/3B Santiago Espinal, Cincinnati Reds (FD:$2,300 | DK:$2,500)
- SS/3B Kike Hernandez, Los Angeles Dodgers (FD:$2,300 | DK:$2,600)
- SS Miguel Rojas, Los Angeles Dodgers (FD:$2,500 | DK:$3,700)
- OF Miguel Vargas, Los Angeles Dodgers (FD:$2,600 | DK:$3,200)
Notes: I tried to find cheap options within my stacks and think I did so successfully. However, Espinal and Singleton are exceptions to that. Espinal is on here today because the Simulator gives him a 41% chance to 3X and a 26% chance to 4X.
