SP:
Gerritt Cole, Yankees (DK: $9,000 | FD: $9,600)
Hunter Brown, Astros (DK: $8,400 | FD: $9,100)
Michael Wacha, Royals (DK: $8,200 | FD: $8,900)
Notes: I think Cole is going to have a great second half of the season. He is back to averaging just over a strikeout per inning. He had a bad start vs. the Red Sox, but most of those hits were bleeders, nothing was hit hard. Brown has been solid for almost two months and has a great matchup vs. a below-average Mariner lineup in a pitchers’ park. The DFS Hero Optimizer projects Wacha to have the best winning percentage at 67%
Stacks:
Kansas City Royals vs. Chicago White Sox
Colorado Rockies vs. San Francisco Giants
New York Mets vs. Miami Marlins
Notes: I think the Royals will score five-plus runs tonight, and the DFS Hero Optimizer agrees, projecting them to score a tad over five runs. The Rockies averaged over five runs at home, and their bats were starting to heat up before the All-Star Break. Look for the Mets to hit much better in the second half, and it starts against Edward Cabrera, who has an ERA over 8.
C:
Will Smith, Dodgers (DK: $5,600 | FD: No Play)
Salvador Perez, Royals (DK: $4,600 | FD: $3,500)
Notes: The Optimizer projects Smith to lead all catchers in fantasy points, with Perez third.
1B:
Pete Alonso, Mets (DK: $5,100 | FD: $3,300)
Vinny Pasquantino, Royas (DK: $4,700 | FD: $3,100)
Ben Rice, Yankees (DK: $3,900 | FD: No Play)
Notes: The Optimizer projects these three to finish in the top five in first-base scoring. They are considerably cheaper than Ohtani and Freeman.
2B:
Thairo Estrada, Giants (DK: $4,300 | FD: $2,600)
Brendan Rodgers, Rockies (DK: $4,000 | FD: $2,700)
Notes: One of these players, if not both, could have huge nights at Coors Field. I do like the value play second baseman a bit better on DK but these guys are huge bargains on FD.
3B:
Mark Vientos, Mets (DK: $4,600 | FD: $3,200)
Maikel Garcia, Royals (DK: $4,400 | FD: $3,300)
Matt Vierling, Tigers (DK: $4,000 | FD: $2,900)
Notes: The top-third basemen are severely overpriced, in my opinion. These three have better matchups and will be lower owned.
SS:
Bobby Witt Jr., Royals (DK: $6,300 | FD: $4,400)
Francisco Lindor, Mets (DK: $5,300 | FD: $3,700)
Notes: I am 100% paying up for shortstop tonight. I think both could have over 20-plus points.
OF:
Aaron Judge, Yankees (DK: $6,400 | FD: $4,700)
Juan Soto, Yankees (DK: $6,000 | FD: $4,300)
Luis Robert Jr., White Sox (DK: $5,200 | FD: $3,500)
Brent Rooker, Athletics (DK: $5,100 | FD: $3,600)
Brenton Doyle, Rockies (DK: $5,000 | FD: $3,300)
Notes: Judge and Soto are projected to be second and third, respectively, in Outfielder points. I think you will have to have one in your winning lineup. You can take a chance and play them both by paying down at second base and pitching.
Value Players:
C Freddy Fermin, Royals (DK: $3,100 | FD: No Play)
C Austin Wells, Yankees (DK: $3,300 | FD: No Play)
OF Jo Adell, Angels (DK: $3,300 | FD: $2,700)
OF Hunter Renfroe, Royals (DK: $3,400 | FD: $3,000)
2B Colt Keith, Tigers (DK: $3,500 | FD: $3,100)
2B Zach Gelof, Athletics (DK: $3,700 | FD: $3,000)
OF JJ Bleday, Athletics (DK: $3,700 | FD: $2,900)
SP Spencer Schwellenbach, Braves (DK: $7,600 | FD: No Play)
SP Sean Manea, Mets (DK: $7,600 | FD: $8,800)
Notes: The Optimizer has Renfroe projected near the top in all player values. I think the best value is at second base, as Keith and Cole will be in most of my lineups. Wells is starting to hit home runs and has been in multiple winning lineups over the past week. The A’s players have a solid matchup and have been part of a lineup that has scored 18-plus runs twice over the past week. The value pitchers allow you to spend up at shortstop and the outfield.
