FREE 8/19 MLB Cheat Sheet: Top DFS Plays

SP:

Kevin Gausman, Toronto Blue Jays (FD:$8,900 | DK:$8,800)

Yusei Kikuchi, Houston Astros (FD:$10,000 | DK:$8,500)

Gavin Stone, Los Angeles Dodgers (FD:$8,000 | DK:$7,500)

Notes: Gausman is the number one ranked SP tonight on the DFS Hero Optimizer. Kikuchi is the number two-ranked SP on the Optimizer, and his strikeouts have gone way up since being traded to the Astros. Stone is cheap tonight and has a great matchup against a weak-hitting Mariners lineup. The Optimizer also likes Taj Bradley and David Peterson tonight, ranking them as the number three and four SPs on the slate.

Top Stacks:

Kansas City Royals vs. Los Angeles Angels

New York Mets vs. Baltimore Orioles

Notes: The Royals lineup has been great lately. They are deep, and they have a good matchup tonight against the Angels SP Carson Fulmer and their horrible bullpen. The Mets lineup is inconsistent, but they face a familiar opponent tonight in Trevor Rogers who spent all of his career in the NL East until his trade to Baltimore a few weeks ago. Since arriving in Baltimore, Rogers hasn’t pitched well, and the Mets have some solid right-handed hitters to stack against the lefty tonight.

C:

Salvador Perez, Kansas City Royals (FD:$3,000 | DK:$5,100)

Joey Bart, Pittsburgh Pirates (FD:$2,900 | DK:$3,900)

Cal Raleigh, Seattle Mariners (FD:$3,100 | DK:$4,900)

Notes: Perez is one of the top offensive catchers in the league and can be used in the Royals stack. He is also the number one ranked catcher on the DFS Hero Optimizer tonight. Raleigh has big-time power and the potential to hit multiple homers in a game. He is the second-ranked catcher on the Optimizer tonight, and Bart is the third-ranked catcher.

1B:

Shohei Ohtani, Los Angeles Dodgers (FD:$4,600 | DK:$6,800)

Pete Alonso, New York Mets (FD:$3,300 | DK:$5,000)

Vinnie Pasquantino, Kansas City Royals (FD:$3,300 | DK:$4,700)

Notes: Ohtani can be used in my Dodgers stack and is the number two ranked 1B on the DFS Hero Optimizer today. You can also use Ohtani in the OF and look to use Freddie Freeman at 1B for the Dodgers. Burleson and Burger are ranked number one and three tonight on the Optimizer, and both are threats to hit a HR.

2B:

Michael Massey, Kansas City Royals (FD:$2,800 | DK:$3,900)

Jose Altuve, Houston Astros (FD:$3,600 | DK:$5,500)

Jose Iglesias, New York Mets (FD:$2,700 | DK:$4,000)

Notes: Massey can be used in the Royals stack tonight, and I have a really interesting value play at 2B tonight who isn’t involved in my stacks. Iglesias is the number two-four ranked 2B on the DFS Hero Simulator and can be used in the Mets stack. Altuve has been hot lately, hits the Red Sox well, and has 70% of his HRs this season when playing at home, which is where he is tonight.

3B:

Max Muncy, Los Angeles Dodgers (FD:$3,300 | DK:$4,700)

Mark Vientos, New York Mets (FD:$3,200 | DK:$4,500)

Maikel Garcia, Kansas City Royals (FD:$2,900 | DK:$4,200)

Notes: Muncy is the number two ranked 3B tonight on the DFS Hero Simulator and has a 25% chance to 3X. He is expected to be activated off the IL tonight, but make sure that he is before locking him in. Vientos also has a 25% chance to 3X tonight and is one of the main power bat targets in the Mets stack. Garcia is usually an after thought in the Royals lineup, but should be considered if you decide to stack them.

SS:

Bobby Witt Jr., Kansas City Royals (FD:$4,700 | DK:$6,600)

Francisco Lindor, New York Mets (FD:$3,900 | DK:$5,600)

Jose Caballero, Tampa Bay Rays (FD:$2,800 | DK:$3,500)

Notes: Witt Jr. is the number two ranked SS on the DFS Hero Optimizer today, and he is one of the best players in MLB. Lindor can be used in the Mets stack and is the number six ranked SS on the Optimizer. Caballero is the top-ranked SS on the Optimizer today and has the second-best leverage score out of the top ten ranked SS on the Optimizer.

OF:

JD Martinez, New York Mets (FD:$3,000 | DK:$4,500) 

Harrison Bader, New York Mets (FD:$2,700 | DK:$3,500)

Hunter Renfroe, Kansas City Royals (FD:$2,700 | DK:$3,500)

Starling Marte, New York Mets (FD:$2,900 | DK:$4,300)

Luis Robert, Chicago White Sox (FD:$3,300 | DK:$4,400)

Julio Rodriguez, Seattle Mariners (FD:$2,900 | DK:$4,800)

Notes: Everyone, with the exception of Robert and Rodriguez, can be used in my top stacks tonight. Robert is the number two ranked OF on the DFS Hero Simulator and has a 32% chance to 3X tonight. Rodriguez is the number three ranked OF on the SImulator, and he has a 26% chance to 3X tonight.

Value Players:
