Can’t believe I’m typing this, as I was one of the harshest critics of Nix coming into the year. I’ll give it to him; he’s played solidly after a shaky first month. His ability to get out of the pocket and make things happen is appealing for fantasy purposes as he’s a significant threat to run one in. The price tag isn’t as scary with Nix having some cheap stacking options and the soft pricing of the entire slate.
Contrarian Captain Consideration: Jameis Winston, QB, Cleveland ($14,400)
Flex Option: Courtland Sutton, WR, Denver ($10,200)
Sutton is on a five-game heater and the clear #1 option in this offense. He’s nearly a lock for 8+ targets, and the Browns haven’t covered anybody all year. I could see a case for fading him cause of ownership, but you will probably just be burning your money.
Flex Option: Nick Chubb, RB, Cleveland ($9,400)
It’s been a slow start for Chubb since coming back from injury, but he put it all together last week against a tough Steelers defense. The Broncos are no slouch of a defense, but we know the Browns want to get the run game going on the road. The Vegas game script would also call for some work in the passing game to help boost his floor in this matchup.
