FREE 7/7 MLB Cheat Sheet: Top DFS Plays

SP:

• Nathan Eovaldi, Texas Rangers (FD:$9,700 | DK:$9,000)
• Edward Cabrera, Miami Marlins (FD: N/A | DK:$7,700)
• Michael Mercado, Philadelphia Phillies (FD:$6,800 | DK:$7,500)

Notes: Eovaldi at home, where he has been incredible this season, posting a 1.92 ERA and 0.81 WHIP in nine starts. He is also the second most optimal pitcher on the DFS Hero Optimizer today. Cabrera has a big strikeout upside, and he has a pretty good matchup, too, against the White Sox. Mercado looked great in his first start, and although he faces the Braves today, the Braves lineup hasn’t been as good as advertised.

Top Stacks:

• San Francisco Giants vs. Cleveland Guardians
• St. Louis Cardinals vs. Washington Nationals

Notes: The Giants go up against Carlos Carrasco, who has been dreadful this season with a 5.21 ERA, 1.36 WHIP, and .270 BAA. Even though the DFS Hero Optimizer likes Carrasco, it is because of his low price, not because of his skills. You could take a chance with him in a large tournament in a lineup, but I would prefer to stack against him. With the Cardinals, they have some right-handed hitters that I love today against Nats lefty DJ Herz, who has allowed five HR in his past 12.2 innings.

C:

• Wilson Contreras, St. Louis Cardinals (FD:$3,200 | DK:$5,000)
• Patrick Bailey, San Francisco Giants (FD:$2,800 | DK:$4,000)
• Joey Bart, Pittsburgh Pirates (FD:$2,500 | DK:$3,200)

Notes: Contreras is the fourth most optimal catcher on the DSF Hero Simulator today and has the highest projected ceiling at the position. Bailey is a nice option in the Giants stack and has a 22% chance to 3X. Bart is projected to be less than 1% owned, and he could have a great day against a LHP.

1B:

• Paul Goldschmidt, St. Louis Cardinals (FD:$2,900 | DK:$4,500)
• Lamonte Wade Jr., San Francisco Giants (FD:$2,800 | DK:$3,500)
• Nathaniel Lowe, Texas Rangers (FD:$3,000 | DK:$3,900)

Notes: Goldy is a top option in the Cardinals stack today. He is one of the right-handed hitters that I love in this matchup. The DFS Hero Optimizer gives him the second-highest ceiling at 1B today. LaMonte Wade hits RHP well; he is batting over .300 this season and is cheap. Lowe has been on fire lately with four HR and 14 RBI in his past 10 games.

2B:

• Brett Wisely, San Francisco Giants (FD:$2,500 | DK:$3,500)
• Colt Keith, Detroit Tigers (FD:$2,900 | DK:$3,000)
• Jonathan India, Cincinnati Reds (FD:$2,900 | DK:$4,100)

Notes: Wisely is a top option against the righty Carasco today and cheap in the Giants stack. Jonathan India has been on fire and remains affordable, even in the hot steak. Keith is a favorite of the DFS Hero Simulator. They give him a 44% chance to 3X and a 29.6% chance to 4X.

3B:

• Matt Chapman, San Francisco Giants (FD:$3,200 | DK:$4,700)
• Jose Miranda, Minnesota Twins (FD:$3,200 | DK:$4,200)
• Nolan Arenado, St. Louis Cardinals (FD:$2,900 | DK:$4,000)

Notes: Chapman can be very all or nothing, but he is one of the power bats in the Giants stack today, so he needs to be considered. Miranda enters today with a hit in 12 consecutive at-bats, and although the streak is likely to end, I think it’s wise to keep playing him until he cools off. Arenado can be used in the Cardinals stack today, and he should be. The DFS Hero Simulator gives him a 29% chance to 3X and a 21.5% chance to 3.5X.

SS:

• Francisco Lindor, New York Mets (FD:$43400 | DK:$5,100)
• Masyn Winn, St. Louis Cardinals (FD:$2,700 | DK:$4,400)

Notes: Winn is having a great rookie season and is one of the right-handed hitters I like today in the Cardinals stack. Lindor is the top-rated SS on the DFS Hero Optimizer today, with a 16.9% optimal percentage, a 15.4 projected ceiling, and a 53% win percentage.

OF:

• Heliot Ramos, San Francisco Giants (FD:$3,400 | DK:$4,800)
• Michael Conforto, San Francisco Giants (FD:$2,700 | DK:$3,900)
• Ian Happ, Chicago Cubs (FD:$3,300 | DK:$4,000)
• James Wood, Washington Nationals (FD:$2,800 | DK:$4,000)
• Jorge Soler, San Francisco Giants (FD:$3,000 | DK:$4,300)

Notes: Ramos, Soler, and Conforto can all be used in the Giants stack today. Ramos is the only expensive one, but he is also the most consistent and reliable of the options. Ian Happ has been on fire lately, so I look forward to that continuing. James Wood looked great during his first week in the leagues, and I liked his matchup today against RHP Kyle Gibson. Two OFs to watch today are in the Marlins OF. The DFS Hero Simulator likes Jazz Chisolm Jr. and Jesus Sanchez. Sanchez is especially interesting because the simulator gives him a 40% chance to 3X and a 26.8% chance to 4X.

Value Players:

• SS Nick Ahmed, San Francisco Giants (FD:$2,200 | DK:$2,500)
• OF Dylan Carlson, St. Louis Cardinals (FD:$2,400 | DK:$2,600)

Notes: These are two cheap options in my stacks today. The DFS Hero Simulator gives Ahmed a 26% chance to 3.5X.
