Today, we have a 5-game MLB slate on DraftKings, starting at 6:40 p.m. ET. Check out my favorite players at each position, value plays, and stacks! Our partners at DFSHero.com provide us with access to their lineup optimizer and AI simulator, which we use to provide you with the best DFS plays every day!
SP:
Chris Sale, Braves (DK: $10,500 | FD: $11,500)
Andrew Abbott, Reds (DK: $8,200 | FD: $9,500)
Notes: Sale has the highest upside on the slate. He has 24-plus point games in 12 of his last 13 starts. The Optimizer has him projected as the top-scoring pitcher on the slate. Abbott is projected to be the second-highest-scoring pitcher on the slate. He faces Colorado who averages only 3.65 runs per game on the road.
Stacks:
Cincinnati Reds vs. Colorado Rockies
Minnesota Twins vs. Chicago White Sox
Notes: The Reds and Twins have plus matchups vs. the Rockies and White Sox pitching staffs. The optimizer agrees, projecting both teams to score over 5 runs.
C:
Ryan Jeffers, Twins (DK: $4,500 | FD: $3,200)
Notes: The Optimizer projects Jeffers to be the top-scoring catcher. He is having a solid season, and his price doesn’t break the bank.
1B:
Matt Olson, Braves (DK: $5,000 | FD: $3,300)
Jeimer Candelario, Reds (DK: $4,300 | FD: $3,000)
Notes: Olson is projected to lead all first basemen in scoring. It feels like he is going to go on a tear soon. Candelario is projected to be third in first base scoring but gives a solid price break.
2B:
Marcus Semien, Rangers (DK: $4,900 | FD: $3,400)
Jonathan India, Reds (DK: $4,100 | FD: $2,900)
Notes: Both are projected to lead second basemen in scoring. Semien has a higher ceiling, but India has the best value.
3B:
Austin Riley, Braves (DK: $5,100 | FD: $3,700)
Matt Vierling, Tigers (DK: $3,800 | FD: $3,000)
Notes: Riley and Vierling are projected to be among the top four in third-base scoring. Riley has been much better since his slow start. Vierling offers a ton of value.
SS:
Elly De La Cruz, Reds (DK: $6,300 | FD: $4,200)
Corey Seager, Rangers (DK: $5,000 | FD: $3,500)
Notes: Short Stop is the one position I am spending up for. I think both could have monster nights. I will play 2 DK lineups with one in each and a FD lineup with both in.
OF:
Luis Robert Jr., White Sox (DK: $5,100 | FD: $3,800)
Byron Buxton, Twins (DK: $4,600 | FD: $3,200)
Adolis Garcia, Rangers (DK: $4,600 | FD: $3,200)
Jarred Kelenic, Braves (DK: $4,000 | FD: $3,100)
Notes: The top 3 are projected to be the top 3 scoring outfielders, according to the optimizer, with Kelenic finishing sixth. Robert and Buxton are my two favorites on the slate.
Value Players:
1B Edwin Rios, Reds (DK: $2,000 | FD: $2,000)
OF Eli White, Braves (DK: $2,000 | FD: $2,000)
2B/OF Angel Martinez, Guardians (DK: $2,800 | FD: $2,200)
3B Brooks Lee, Twins (DK: $3,000 | FD: $2,800)
C Sean Murphy, Braves (DK: $3,400 | FD: $2,900)
Jon Gray, Rangers (DK: $7,000 | FD: $7,300)
SP Chris Paddack, Twins (DK: $7,500 | FD: No Play)
Notes: The Optimizer rates all as solid value tonight. Lee will be priced over 4K after All Star break and is an auto play. White and Rios allow you to play your lineups any way you want. Both have power and should be above min-price.
