On a FanDuel slate, Export works the same way as on DraftKings: DFS Hero writes the lineups from your entries into the file you downloaded from FanDuel. The file shape differs, and FanDuel has no direct upload link.
Before you start
- Upload the FanDuel entries CSV to a FanDuel slate and fill the entries. See Upload your entries and Contest Setup and Fill.
- Read the DraftKings article for the shared export checks and dialogs. See Export and upload to DraftKings.
Step by step
- Click the entries button in the workspace toolbar.
- Optional: switch on Open FanDuel after export to open the FanDuel upcoming contests page in a new tab after every export.
- Click Export. The file holds your saved entries. When they differ from this build's preview, a dialog asks first: Fill, then export or Export as saved.
- Save the file. Its name is
entries-fanduel-<sport>-<slate id>-filled.csv. - On the FanDuel upcoming contests page, open the slate's entries and upload the file with FanDuel's CSV upload control. On a phone, FanDuel shows that control only in landscape.
- Confirm the upload on FanDuel and check your entries there.
Every control
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Export | Runs the export checks and downloads the file. Disabled at 0 filled when no build exists to fill from. |
| Open FanDuel after export | Opens the FanDuel upcoming contests page in a new tab after each export. Off by default. |
| Download (Day View) | Appears once at least one entry holds a lineup. Downloads the filled file for that slate. |
| Replace | Uploads a new FanDuel file for the slate. The new set replaces the old set, including fills. |
| Clear | Removes the lineups from every entry but keeps the entry set. |
| Trash icon | Deletes the entry set for the slate. |
How it works
The FanDuel file shape
- The header row and the player list stay as FanDuel wrote them.
- Each filled roster cell holds the paired id
<slate id>-<player id>and the player's name in the FanDuel format, for example104711-82440:Josh Allen. - FanDuel can write short rows that hold only the id, name, and fee cells. DFS Hero pads them to the full width.
- A row that the site rules refused keeps the cells FanDuel wrote.
The export checks
The FanDuel export runs the same checks as the DraftKings export. Resolve any roster, player id, or sync warning before you upload the file. The FanDuel roster rules cover duplicate players, roster size, seat counts, the salary cap, the per-team cap, the MLB hitter cap, the team floor, and the game floor.
Unmatched FanDuel contests
When a contest id from the file is not in the slate's contest list, DFS Hero asks FanDuel for that contest and keeps retrying. Until the match lands, the Unmatched contests dialog lets you enter the type, the field size, and the payout so the simulator can score it. See Upload your entries.
Tips
- Download a fresh file from FanDuel after you add entries on the site, then use Replace. The old set and its fills go away in one step.
- After the first games start, the Swap sheet is the only way to change entries. Its Apply & Download step produces the same file. See Run a late swap.
Troubleshooting
"FanDuel would reject N of these lineups" : a lineup breaks a FanDuel roster rule. Those rows exported as you uploaded them. Fix the pool or the caps, fill again, and export again.
"Export blocked: some players have no site player id" : fill again from a build on this slate.
"Export blocked: the generated file did not match your entries. Refresh and retry." : reload the page and export again.
"This file repeats lineups: N distinct lineup(s) across M filled entries." : expected only when Duplicates allows it. Otherwise build more lineups or lower Min Uniques, fill again, then export again.
"Your browser blocked the FanDuel tab." : click Open FanDuel in the toast.
"Export failed" / "No CSV was downloaded. Check your connection and try again." : try again.
