The entries CSV tells DFS Hero which contests you entered and how many entries each one holds. From that moment the slate has an entry set: one row per entry, grouped by contest, ready to be filled from a build. Upload once per slate, and upload again with Replace when your entries on the site change.
Before you start
- Download the entries CSV for the slate. See Download your entries CSV.
- Open the matching slate in DFS Hero. The file's site must match the slate's site. See Open and manage slate tabs.
Step by step
- Open the slate and click the entries button in the workspace toolbar.
- Drop the CSV on the box labeled Drop CSV here, or click the box to browse for the file.
- Read the popover. The header shows the entry count and the percent of entries that hold a lineup.
- Check the CONTESTS list. Each row is one contest from the file with
filled/total. - If DFS Hero asks about unmatched contests, answer the dialog or click Skip. See "Unmatched contests" below.
- Close the popover. The CONTESTS rail now lists the entered contests at the top, each with an
N enteredbadge.
- Click Build. Build Settings sets Entries Preview to the file's entry count and locks the field, so the build selects as many lineups as the file holds.
You can also upload from the Day View. Each slate row, and each card in the card view, carries an upload icon. On a phone, the Tools sheet holds the row Upload Entries.

How it works
What DFS Hero checks
DFS Hero rejects an empty, malformed, oversized, or site-mismatched file, and a file whose roster width or contests belong to a different slate. A refused file leaves your previous entry set as it was. Every message is listed under Troubleshooting.
What DFS Hero stores
- One active entry set per slate. A new upload replaces the old set, and the old fills go with it.
- A row that already holds players is loaded as filled. Those lineups stay as the site wrote them until you press Fill. Open View entries to see those lineups.
- An unknown contest id is retried until it matches. On FanDuel, DFS Hero also asks FanDuel for the missing contest.
- On the Power plan, an upload can schedule your default Playbook for the slate when that Playbook has auto-run on. See Schedule a cloud build.
Unmatched contests
The entries file carries no field size or payouts. When a contest is not in the slate's contest list, the Unmatched contests dialog opens after the upload, and the CONTESTS rail shows N unmatched contest(s) from your entries with a button Add payout info until you answer.
For each unmatched contest, set its Type (GPP or Cash), its Field size, and its payouts. The prize pool starts as an estimate net of about 15% rake; edit it if you know the real pool. Click Add N contest(s) to save the answers. DFS Hero creates one sim scenario per contest, so the simulator can score it. See Contest Simulation settings.
Clear and Delete
Clear removes the lineups from every entry and keeps the entry set, so you can refill at any time. The trash icon deletes every entry and its lineup, and that cannot be undone. Both ask you to confirm first.
Tips
- Upload before you build. The build then sizes Entries Preview to the file, and Fill N shows the moment the build lands.
- Use Replace rather than the trash icon when you add entries on the site. Replace runs the same checks and keeps you in one step.
- Answer the unmatched contests dialog when it appears. Without a field size and a payout ladder, the simulator cannot score those contests.
- A second slate needs its own file. Open the other slate tab and upload there.
Troubleshooting
"<file name>" is not a .csv file. : the file is not a CSV. Download the file again and keep the .csv extension.
"This CSV looks like FanDuel, but this slate is DraftKings. Please upload a DraftKings entries CSV." : the file and the slate belong to different sites. Open the slate for the file's site.
"This CSV has N entries. The app accepts up to 10,000 entries in one upload. Split the file by contest and upload each part." : split the file and upload each part.
"This CSV has N row(s) the app cannot read as an entry or a player. Re-download the file from the site without editing it." : a row is malformed, often after a spreadsheet re-save. Download a fresh file.
"This slate is MLB, but the upload was sent for NFL. Re-open the slate and try again." : the open tab and the upload disagree on the sport. Close and reopen the slate tab.
"This CSV has N lineup columns, but NFL lineups on this slate have M. It looks like a file for a different slate." : open the classic or showdown slate that matches the file.
"The upload did not save. Your previous entries are unchanged. Try again in a moment." : your old set is intact. Upload again.
"Could not delete the entries" : check your connection and try again.
"Clear didn't reach the server" / "Your entries may reappear after a reload. Check your connection and try again." : the clear was applied on this device only. Try again with a working connection.
