StackIQ ranks every team on the slate as a stack. Its Rank is a sport-weighted composite of the stack's projection, ceiling, value, implied scoring, win share (Opt%), and leverage (Lev%). From the same table you add a team to a stack rule, apply ownership-shaped team exposures, or export the numbers. Use it before you open the Stacks tab, so the rules you set there start from evidence.
Before you start
- StackIQ shows on classic NFL, CFB, MLB, and NHL slates, on both plans.
- Know how stack rules work. See Stacks tab.
Open StackIQ
Click StackIQ in the Players panel tab strip.
What each column means
The table opens sorted by Rank. Click any header to sort by that column.
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Plus icon | Adds the team to Stack Rule #1, or removes it. |
| TeamPts (NFL, CFB), Runs (MLB), Goals (NHL) | The team's implied points, projected runs, or projected goals. |
| Total | The game total. |
| WX (MLB, NFL) | The game's weather score from 0 to 10, from temperature, wind, and precipitation. On MLB it reads for hitters (H+) or pitchers (P+). On NFL it reads for passing (Air+) or the run game (Ground+). The same score sits on the game card in the Games strip. |
| Proj | The summed projection of the stack players. |
| Ceil | The summed ceiling: the upside when the entire stack goes off. |
| Own% | How often the stack appears in the field. |
| Val | Projection per $1,000 of stack salary. |
| Sal | The stack's salary. |
| Opt% | Win share: how often the stack outscores every other stack in the simulation. |
| Lev% | Opt% minus Own%: how under- or over-owned the stack is relative to how often it wins. |
| Rank | The overall rank: a sport-weighted composite of projection, ceiling, value, implied scoring, Opt%, and Lev%. Ranks 1 to 3 are green. |
A domed stadium scores 5.0 on MLB and 10 on NFL, since a dome is the best passing setting. Hover the cell for the breakdown.
Every control
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Apply StackOwn | Writes team exposures into Stack Rule #1 in proportion to each team's Own%. With no teams selected it adds every team first. |
| Export CSV | Downloads the visible table as a CSV file. |
| Plus icon on a row | Adds the team to Stack Rule #1. Click again to remove it. |
| Second icon on a row (MLB only) | Adds the team to Stack Rule #2. |
Add a team to a stack rule
- Sort by Lev% and pick a team with a positive number and a solid Opt%.
- Click the plus icon on its row.
- Open Build Settings and click the Stacks tab. The rule holds your team.
When no Stack Rule #1 exists yet, DFS Hero creates one with the sport's default shape: a team stack of 3 for NFL and CFB, a stack of 5 on DraftKings or 4 on FanDuel for MLB with any batting-order gap, and a team-plus-line stack for NHL. The rule's max exposure starts at 100%. Edit the shape in the Stacks tab afterwards.
Apply StackOwn
Apply StackOwn turns the table's ownership column into exposure targets. With teams already in Stack Rule #1 it sets each team's exposure in proportion to its Own%. On NHL a team's Own% is the one on its top-ranked row, a line or a power-play unit. With no teams selected it adds every team on the slate first. Teams from postponed games, whose stack ownership is 0, are left out.
The result is a build whose stack distribution mirrors the field. Use it as a base, then push the exposure up on the teams you like and down on the ones you fade in the Stacks tab.
How it works
Each row is one team's stack as StackIQ scores it: in football the quarterback, his top pass catcher, and one receiver from the opponent as a bring-back; hitters in baseball. NHL shows five rows per team. A line row (L1 to L3) holds the team's goalie and the line's center, wing, and defenseman. A power-play row (PP1, PP2) holds the skaters on that unit. All lines and units share one Rank, so the table starts at 1 and skips no number. Opt% comes from StackIQ's own stack simulation, which draws each player's score around his projection on its own, without game correlation, and counts how often that stack outscores every other stack. A positive Lev% marks a stack the model expects the field to under-play relative to how often it wins.
Tips
- Sort by Lev% first. The top of the Rank column is often the chalk; Lev% shows where the model estimates ownership below a stack's simulated win share, an edge to check rather than a certainty.
- Pair a high Opt% team with a bring-back from the opponent row when the game total is high; the football stack StackIQ scores already includes one opponent receiver.
- Check Sal before you commit. A 20K stack in a $50,000 cap leaves $30K for the other six slots on an NFL roster.
- Use Apply StackOwn for large tournament sets when you want to match the field, then cap the two chalk stacks in the Stacks tab.
- On MLB, treat a WX under 4 as a reason to fade the stack even when the Runs look fine. On NFL, a WX under 5 favors the run game and the defense over a passing stack.
Troubleshooting
"No stack data available for the current slate.": DFS Hero has no team data for this slate yet. Check back after projections land.
"No stack data available" (after Apply StackOwn): the table is empty. Same cause.
The StackIQ button is missing: the slate is a showdown, or the sport is not NFL, CFB, MLB, or NHL.
