FREE 10/28 NFL MNF Cheat Sheet: Top DFS Plays
October 28, 2024
In this low-scoring showdown, the New York Giants head to Pittsburgh as 6-point underdogs, with a game total set at just 36.5. With the bleak scoring outlook, selecting the right captains and value flex options becomes crucial.
New York Giants +6 at Pittsburgh Steelers – 36.5
Captain: Russell Wilson, QB, Pittsburgh ($14,400)
Let Russ cook! I don’t know how much he or anyone else in this ugly game environment will feast with a 36 total, but we are here for it. Wilson was spectacular yesterday, and in “Showdown” settings, the dual-threat quarterback is pure gold. The Giants have also had trouble containing quarterbacks on the move. They gave up 55 rushing yards to Joe Burrow and 72 to Geno Smith earlier this month. Wilson should be able to get loose for some big plays with his legs and arm.
Contrarian Captain Consideration: Daniel Jones, QB, New York ($14,100)
Flex Option: Malik Nabers, WR, New York ($10,000)
If there is one thing we can trust in the Giants offense, it’s the volume and ability of Nabers. The rookie hasn’t seen a game with fewer than seven targets. The Steelers have one of the best defenses in the league, but their secondary is suspect. I wouldn’t recommend fading the number one receiving option on a team projected to play from behind.
Flex Option: Najee Harris, RB, Pittsburgh ($9,200)
We mentioned the Giants giving up big runs to quarterbacks recently. Well, Saquon Barkley just got done nearly setting a franchise record against them. With the Wilson/Pickens stacks being super popular, Harris is a nice way to differentiate your lineup. He’s been on a nice roll lately on the ground, and I expect him to get back to his 3-5 targets in the passing game during this grind-it-out environment.
Other Flex Considerations
Malik Nabers, WR, New York ($10,000)
George Pickens, WR, Pittsburgh ($9,800)
Wandale Robinson, WR, New York ($7,800)
Pat Freiermuth, TE, Pittsburgh ($6,200)
Darius Slayton, WR, New York ($5,800)
Bargain Bin Flex: Steelers DST ($5,400)
The first primary recommendation for a non-offensive player is in the “Bargain Bin”. The Steelers defensive line is dominant, and you can probably count on one hand the number of guys that will score more than 7-8 fantasy points tonight. I expect the Steelers to make plays to flirt with 10+ fantasy points.
Bargain Bin Flex Considerations
Chris Boswell, K, Pittsburgh ($5,000)
Greg Joseph, K, New York ($4,800)
Tyrone Tracy, RB, New York ($4,400)
Van Jefferson, WR, Pittsburgh ($4,000)
Darnell Washington, TE, Pittsburgh ($2,800)
Best Bets for MNF Week 8
Final Score: New York Giants 13, Pittsburgh Steelers 24
Everyone criticized Mike Tomlin last week for making the quarterback change, and now he looks like a genius. I’m fully expecting the Steelers defense to shut down the Giants. Pittsburgh covers the spread while we inch across the over, thanks to some field goals.

Malik Nabers OVER 6 Receptions
Russell Wilson OVER 16.5 Fantasy Score
