The Sport Rules card sits at the bottom of the Basic tab, collapsed by default. Its rules change with the sport and site. Every checkbox rule starts off. Offense vs Defense, Skaters vs Goalie, Offense vs Goalie, Hitters vs Pitcher, and Offense vs Team are always on and carry an Auto / Manual switch instead of a checkbox, on the last row of the card. Auto, the default, lets each lineup face its DST, pitcher, goalie, goalkeeper, or TEAM the way real top-1% lineups do on that sport and slate size. Manual shows an Allow number, starting at 0, which allows none. This page lists the rules for each sport, then the stack families and limits each sport gets.
Before you start
- Open the sheet with Build. See The Basic tab.
- Roster slots per sport and site are in Supported sports and sites.
How to read the card
- Click Sport Rules on the Basic tab to expand the card.
- Check a rule. A rule with a count shows a second row for the count. A position rule opens a multi-select of positions. On an Auto / Manual rule, pick Manual to set the count.

Showdown and single-game slates
Every showdown slate allows at most 5 players from one team and Min Unique Players up to 5. NFL and CFB showdown keep 1 RB Per Team. The Stacks tab holds the Showdown Distribution table, and there is no Min/Max tab.
Limits by sport
Per-team caps are the site's ceilings: the roster size minus 1, or fewer when the site's rules say so. They are also the defaults. The Min/Max tab can tighten them and never loosen them. See The Min/Max tab.

How it works
A sport rule is a hard constraint on every lineup. Every rule shrinks the set of valid lineups, so a build with several rules and a large count can return fewer lineups than asked.
Auto follows real top-1% lineups by slate size. On a 2-game NFL slate, about 3 in 4 of them roster at least one offensive player against their own DST; on 5 games, about 1 in 6 do, and on a main slate, about 1 in 19. So Auto allows a few on small slates and none once the share drops: NFL up to 4 games, MLB up to 3, NHL up to 2, soccer up to 3. On League of Legends, Auto allows none.
In saved settings and playbooks, offense_vs_defense holds the switch: false is Auto and true is Manual. allow_offense holds the Allow number, and only Manual reads it. A saved allow_offense of 0 under Auto does not mean none: Auto still allows its slate-size count. To allow none on every slate, set offense_vs_defense to true and allow_offense to 0.
On soccer, Offense vs Goalie and Pair GK With At Least One DEF From Same Team are separate rules. The first limits the opposing attackers beside your goalkeeper. The second adds a defender from his own team.
The position rules remove positions from a slot. FLEX Position set to WR on NFL DraftKings means the FLEX never holds a running back or a tight end.
Tips
- NFL: 1 Skill Rule is a cash-game rule more than a GPP one.
- MLB: for cash games, set Hitters vs Pitcher to Manual and leave Allow at 0. A hitter who homers against your pitcher costs you twice.
- NHL: Exclude All Fourth Line Players is safer than raising Min Player Projection.
- MMA and tennis: leave the allow rule off. Two sides of one fight cap each other's upside.
Troubleshooting
"Couldn't build lineups" with a named slot : a position rule left the slot with no eligible player, or a per-team rule and a lock disagree. Widen the position list or uncheck the rule.
"Built {n} of {m} lineups" : the rules leave fewer valid lineups than the count. Lower the count or uncheck a rule.
