Projection Hub brings your own numbers into DFS Hero. Its Upload tab reads a CSV or pasted text, matches the rows to the players on the slate, and writes the values into My Proj, My Own, and the other editable columns. Use it when you keep projections in a spreadsheet or buy them from another source.
Before you start
- Projection Hub works before a build. Once a build exists on the tab, the menu item leaves the menu. Open a new build tab or clear the build first. See Saved builds and tabs.
- Keep Projection Source on My Projection in the Basic tab of Build Settings. It is the default. Under Hero Projection the optimizer ignores the numbers you upload. See Basic tab.
- Your file needs a player name column. Everything else is optional.
Step by step
Open the Upload tab
- Click the three-dot button at the right of the Players header.
- Click Projection Hub.
- Click the Upload tab, or Import CSV on the empty state.
Get the template
- Click Template. Your browser downloads
projections_template.csv, with every player on the slate listed by name, position, and salary. - Fill in Projection and, if you want, Ownership as a percentage, for example 55 for 55%. Leave a row blank for a player you have no number for.
- Save the file as CSV.
Any CSV with a Player Name column works. Extra columns can map to Rdm %, Min Exp, and Max Exp too.
Upload the file
- Drop the CSV on the drop zone, or click it to browse. DFS Hero accepts
.csv,.txt, and.tsvfiles. - To paste instead, click Paste Data, paste the rows into the box, and click Parse Data. The first row must hold the headers.
Map the columns
DFS Hero reads the headers and guesses what each column is. Headers such as "Projection", "Ownership", "User Proj", and "User Own" are recognised on their own.
| Control | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| MAP TO | Where the column goes: Skip, Player Name (required), Position, My Proj, My Own, Rdm %, Min Exp, Max Exp, or Custom Column (an extra column in the grid). | Guessed from the header, else Skip |
| IMPORT | Whether the column is imported. The Player Name row is always on. | On for mapped columns |
| Next: Match Players | Moves to player matching. Disabled until a column maps to Player Name. |
Match the players
DFS Hero matches a row when its name equals a slate player's name. A name spelled another way, such as a nickname, needs a manual match; a missing suffix such as Sr. still matches. A row for a player who is not on the slate, for example a player on bye, stays unmatched and is dropped.
| Control | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Unlink icon (Unmap) | Breaks a match you think is wrong. | |
| X icon (Exclude) | Drops the row from the import. Click again to bring it back. | |
| An unmatched row | Click it to see Suggestions: similar names from the slate. Click one to match. | |
| Name: | The name of the saved set. | "Custom1", then "Custom2", and so on |
| Zero-out unmatched players | Sets My Proj to 0 for every slate player your file did not cover, so a build under My Projection uses only the players you projected. Off, the uncovered players keep their current My Proj. | Off |
| Apply ({N} players) | Writes the set into the grid. Disabled at 0 matched. |
Apply
Click Apply. The matched players' My Proj and My Own cells now show your values with the purple edited outline, and the set appears on the My Projections tab.
The My Projections tab
Every set you apply is saved under Uploaded on the My Projections tab. The row's menu holds Apply to My Proj, Apply to My Own, Apply Randomness, Apply Exposures, and Delete. Formulas from the Architect tab list under Formulas. Each row carries a badge for where it lives: an uploaded set stays on This device, and a formula is Saved to account.
A file you upload must be under 5 MB and under 10,000 data rows.
Re-apply a set on a new build tab, because a new build tab starts clean. Delete removes the set and its custom columns for good.
Tips
- Start from the template. The names then match on the first try.
- Keep Ownership in the file when you have your own numbers. The column maps to My Own, so your view sits next to Hero Own in the grid.
- Turn on Zero-out unmatched players for a tight pool, for example a 40-player cash-game list. Leave it off when your file covers only your edits.
- Add a column named "Max Exp" with per-player caps. It maps to Max Exp and saves a round of grid edits.
Troubleshooting
"File contains no data rows.": the file has a header and nothing else. Add rows.
"Failed to parse file.": the file is not a CSV, TSV, or text file, or it is corrupt. Save it again as CSV.
"No data rows found. Ensure headers are on the first line.": the pasted text has no header row. Put the column names on line one.
"Please paste some data.": the paste box is empty.
"Player Name mapping required.": no column maps to Player Name. Pick it in MAP TO for the column that holds names.
"No matching players found for "{set}"": none of the names match a player on this slate. Check the slate and the spelling.
"No active build tab. Import cannot be applied.": the slate tab has no build tab. Open the slate again and retry.
