The Templates tab holds your templates. A template is a snapshot of your own settings that you save once and load on any later slate for the same sport, site, and contest type (Classic or Showdown). The tab also lists your playbooks, so you can load a playbook's settings into a normal build.
Before you start
- Open a slate and open Build Settings. See Build Settings overview.
- Set up the tabs you want to keep before you save. See The Basic tab and The Stacks tab.
Save your own template
- Set every tab the way you want it.
- Click Build in the workspace toolbar, then click the Templates tab.
- Click Save current under Your Templates.
- In the Save Template dialog, type a name and click Save.
Load or delete a template
- Open the Templates tab.
- Click Load on a row. The other tabs update at once.
- Check the Active: strip to see what the template turned on.
- Adjust anything you want on the other tabs, then click Build in the footer.
To delete a template, click the trash icon on its row and confirm in the Delete Template dialog. To change a template, load it, adjust the settings, save under a new name, and delete the old one.
Load a playbook's settings
On the Power plan, Your Playbooks lists your playbooks for the slate's sport, site, and contest type.
- Open the Templates tab.
- Click Load on a playbook's row. The other tabs update at once, and the build takes the playbook's lineup count and Build Mode.
- Adjust anything you want on the other tabs, then click Build in the footer.
This is a normal build. The playbook itself does not run, so its Select, Fill, and Export stages do not run. To manage your playbooks, open Playbooks in the top navigation. See Manage playbooks.
How it works
A template is a snapshot of your settings on the Basic, Exposure, Min/Max, and Stacks tabs, plus the Build Mode. Its badge shows that Build Mode: Build Only or Build & Sim. A template holds no contests, because contests belong to one slate.
Templates are saved to your account, per sport, site, and contest type. A template you save on an NFL DraftKings Classic slate appears on every NFL DraftKings Classic slate on any device, and nowhere else. A template you save on a Showdown slate appears only on Showdown slates. You can use one name once per contest type. An older template can appear on both Classic and Showdown slates when its settings do not show which contest type it belongs to.
Loading a template writes its values into the current build tab. Anything you change afterward applies to the next build, and the template itself stays as saved until you save again.
Tips
- Save one template per contest type you play: one for large-field GPPs, one for single entry, one for cash. Name them that way.
- A template does not carry player locks, exclusions, projection edits, or group rules. Set those on the slate each time.
Troubleshooting
"No saved Classic templates yet." : you have not saved a template for this sport, site, and contest type. Templates from other sports and contest types do not show here. A Showdown slate says Showdown in this message.
"No saved Classic playbooks yet." : you have no playbook for this sport, site, and contest type.
"Couldn't load your saved templates." : the list could not be fetched. Close the sheet, reopen it, and try again.
