Formula 1 is a DraftKings-only sport in DFS Hero with one slate per race weekend. The roster carries a captain slot and a constructor slot inside a classic lineup, and a cap of 2 per constructor shapes every build. Drivers score from finishing position, positions gained or lost, laps led, a classified finish, beating their teammate, and the fastest lap of the race, and a constructor scores both of its cars' finishing position, laps led, and fastest lap, plus bonuses when both cars are classified, both finish in the points, or both reach the podium.
Sites and formats
| Site | Format | Roster | Salary cap |
|---|---|---|---|
| DraftKings | Classic | CPT, D, D, D, D, CNSTR (6 slots) | $50,000 |
Slot rules that matter:
- The CPT slot takes a driver only. It scores 1.5 times the driver's points and costs 1.5 times the salary.
- The CNSTR slot takes one constructor.
- A driver can fill only one slot. The CPT is a second copy of a driver at 1.5 times the price, not a second roster spot.
- A lineup holds at most 2 entries from one constructor, so a constructor plus both of its drivers is not allowed.
The Player Pool
The UTIL tab lists every driver at base price, and the CNSTR tab lists the constructors. Each driver appears twice: one base row and one CPT row at 1.5 times the salary and projection. A lock or an exclusion on the CPT row applies only to captaining. A lock on the base row puts the driver in a D slot in every lineup. An exclusion on the base row removes the whole driver. With Advanced Mode on, the multiplier columns run from 3X to 6X.
Build Settings
Formula 1 has no sport rules and no Stacks or Min/Max tab. The 2-per-constructor cap is built into the optimizer. Use the Exposure tab and the Min Exp and Max Exp columns to control how often each driver and constructor appears. Min Unique Players goes up to 5.
The Groups tab adds a Grid metric to its Filter by metric helper, so you can pick drivers by starting position. A common rule is "At Least 1 of these drivers" for the drivers who qualified outside the top 10 in a fast car.

How the sim treats Formula 1
The contest simulator draws whole-race outcomes, so linked driver and constructor results move together; the per-game Game Sim panel is not available for this sport. Read the sim results as a ranking of your lineups against each other.
Tips
- Put the CPT on the driver with the highest projected total, which is usually a front-runner but can be a mid-grid driver with a big positions-gained and teammate edge. The 1.5 times multiplier applies to the whole score, not only the finish.
- The 2-per-constructor cap means a top constructor blocks one of its drivers. Decide first whether you want the constructor or both cars, then let the optimizer fill the rest.
- Cheap drivers starting outside the top 10 in a quick car carry the most positions-gained upside. Use a Grid group rule to hold at least 1 in every lineup.
- In a large GPP, use Aggressive Smart Randomness and a Max Exposure % of 40. A first-lap crash can take out any favorite, and a flat pool survives it.
- In cash contests, take the top 2 constructors' drivers where the cap allows, set Smart Randomness to Minimum, and avoid drivers with reliability problems.
- Rebuild after qualifying. Grid positions change projections more than any other input.
