College football is a Saturday sport with big slates, wide player pools, and high-scoring offenses. DFS Hero supports it on DraftKings and FanDuel in classic and single-game formats.
Sites and formats
| Site | Format | Roster | Salary cap |
|---|---|---|---|
| DraftKings | Classic | QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, WR, FLEX, SFLEX (8 players) | $50,000 |
| DraftKings | Showdown | CPT, UTIL, UTIL, UTIL, UTIL, UTIL (6 players) | $50,000 |
| FanDuel | Classic | QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, WR, SFLEX (7 players) | $60,000 |
| FanDuel | Single-game | MVP, UTIL, UTIL, UTIL, UTIL, UTIL (6 players) | $60,000 |
Slot rules that matter:
- DraftKings FLEX takes an RB or a WR. DraftKings SFLEX takes a QB, an RB, or a WR.
- FanDuel WR slots take a WR or a TE. FanDuel SFLEX takes a QB, an RB, a WR, or a TE.
- The DraftKings Showdown pool holds QB, RB, WR, and K. The FanDuel Single-game pool holds QB, RB, WR, TE, K, and DST.
- The CPT and MVP slots score 1.5 times the player's points and cost 1.5 times the salary.
Team and game limits:
- DraftKings classic needs players from at least 2 games.
- FanDuel classic allows at most 4 players from one team, needs at least 3 teams, and needs at least 2 games.
- Showdown and Single-game allow at most 5 players from one team.
The Player Pool
The position tabs follow the format. On a Showdown or Single-game slate each player appears twice: one base row and one CPT or MVP row at 1.5 times the salary and projection. A big Saturday pool can hold more than 800 players, so filter the pool to the players you trust before you build.
Build Settings
Sport Rules
Open Build, then expand SPORT RULES on the Basic tab.
| Control | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| 1 RB Per Team | Allows only one running back from a team in a lineup. | Off |
| FLEX Position | Limits the FLEX slot to the positions you pick (DraftKings classic only). | Off |
| SFLEX Position | Limits the SFLEX slot to the positions you pick. DraftKings offers QB, RB, WR. FanDuel offers QB, RB, WR, TE. | Off |
On a Showdown or Single-game slate the block holds only 1 RB Per Team. Min Unique Players goes up to 7 on DraftKings and 6 on FanDuel.
Stacks
Use a Position Stack rule to pair a QB with his pass catchers or a bring-back, and a Team Stack rule for a fixed count from one team. Showdown and Single-game slates use the Showdown Distribution table instead. No stack is on by default.
Min/Max
On classic slates, MAX PLAYERS PER TEAM and GENERAL PER TEAM default to a maximum of 7 on DraftKings, the most the site allows, because a lineup needs players from at least 2 games. FanDuel classic caps at 4 per team. On both sites the setting can only go lower.
Features that apply
| Feature | CFB support |
|---|---|
| Late Swap | Classic slates on both sites. |
| StackIQ | Classic slates on both sites. |
| Game Sim | Classic and single-game slates on both sites. |
| Hero Chat pivots | Yes, on the Power plan. |
The Game Sim outlook covers CFB slates up to 10 days ahead. On a Showdown slate the Sim tab offers a Base and a Captain 1.5x view of each player's outlook.
Stack shapes
Stack CFB the way you stack NFL: a QB with 1 or 2 of his pass catchers, and often a bring-back from the other side of the game. The SFLEX slot lets a lineup carry 2 quarterbacks, so a double-QB build with 2 mini-stacks is common in large GPPs.
Tips
- Use Game Sim before you stack. College totals spread widely, and the highest-total games carry the best ceilings.
- In a large GPP, use Aggressive Smart Randomness and a Team Stack rule with at least 3 players. Blowout risk is high, so a bring-back from a pass-heavy opponent protects the stack.
- In cash and 50/50 contests, keep Smart Randomness at Minimum and lean on volume RBs from favored teams.
- Use 1 RB Per Team when two backs from one team have competing roles; on a single-game slate a clear one-two punch can be worth both.
- After the early games lock, open Late Swap and run Re-optimize on entries with unlocked slots. Afternoon and night games give CFB the longest swap window of any sport.
