WNBA runs from May to October with short slates of 2 to 6 games. Rosters are small, so every slot carries weight and ownership piles onto a few players. DFS Hero supports WNBA on DraftKings and FanDuel in classic and single-game formats, with minutes and starter data in the Player Pool.
Sites and formats
| Site | Format | Roster | Salary cap |
|---|---|---|---|
| DraftKings | Classic | G, G, F, F, F, UTIL (6 players) | $50,000 |
| DraftKings | Showdown | CPT, UTIL, UTIL, UTIL, UTIL, UTIL (6 players) | $50,000 |
| FanDuel | Classic | G, G, G, F, F, F, F (7 players) | $40,000 |
| FanDuel | Single-game | MVP, UTIL, UTIL, UTIL, UTIL, UTIL (6 players) | $60,000 |
Slot rules that matter:
- DraftKings UTIL takes a G or an F.
- The CPT and MVP slots score 1.5 times the player's points and cost 1.5 times the salary.
Team and game limits:
- DraftKings classic needs players from at least 2 games.
- FanDuel classic allows at most 4 players from one team and needs at least 3 teams.
- Showdown and Single-game allow at most 5 players from one team.
The Player Pool
WNBA adds these columns to the grid:
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Start | A green check for a confirmed starter, a gray X for a bench player. Classic slates only. |
| Mins | Projected minutes. You can edit this cell. |
| FPPM | Fantasy points per minute. |
When you edit Mins, DFS Hero recomputes My Proj as minutes times FPPM and keeps Projection Source on My Projection. The Filters popover adds a Player Status section with Confirmed Starter and Non-Starter, and value filters for Minutes and FPPM.
Build Settings
Sport Rules
Open Build, then expand SPORT RULES on the Basic tab.
| Control | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| UTIL Position | Limits the UTIL slot to the positions you pick: G, F (DraftKings classic). | Off |
Min Unique Players goes up to 5 on DraftKings and 6 on FanDuel.
Stacks
WNBA uses Team Stack rules only. Each rule sets a Stack Size, an optional Max exp %/team, and a For Teams list. Showdown and Single-game slates use the Showdown Distribution table instead. No stack is on by default.
Min/Max
On classic slates, the per-team maximum starts at 5 on DraftKings. FanDuel classic caps at 4 per team, and the setting can only go lower. The Groups tab's metric filter adds Minutes for WNBA.
Features that apply
| Feature | WNBA support |
|---|---|
| Late Swap | Classic slates on both sites. |
| StackIQ | Not available. |
| Game Sim | Classic and single-game slates on both sites. Use it to find the game with the highest total and the closest spread. |
| Hero Chat pivots | Yes, on the Power plan. |
Stack shapes
With only 6 or 7 slots, a WNBA stack is 2 or 3 players from one high-total game. A sharp GPP build pairs the two best scorers from one team, or one scorer from each side of the game with the highest total. A Team Stack rule with Stack Size 2 and a For Teams list of 2 or 3 teams does this. Cash lineups skip stacks and take the best minutes per dollar.
Tips
- Minutes decide WNBA. Sort by Mins and review every player under 20 projected minutes; keep the ones whose usage or salary still fits your contest plan.
- On a 2 or 3 game slate, raise Min Unique Players to 2 or 3 and use Moderate Smart Randomness. The pool is short and lineups repeat fast.
- Ownership stacks up on a few stars. In a GPP, use Max Total Ownership % in CONSTRAINTS to keep a share of your lineups under the chalk.
- In cash contests, start with Confirmed Starter in the Player Status filter and set the pool to the visible players.
- FanDuel's $40,000 cap forces value picks. Sort by Value and check the Start column before you trust a cheap player.
- On a slate with staggered start times, run Late Swap with Re-optimize after the first lock to replace a late scratch.
