Every Swap sheet, swap export, and Hero Chat late swap message, with the fix.
Before you start
- What Late Swap does explains locked and unlocked players and the lock clock.
- Run a late swap walks through the sheet from preview to upload.
Opening the sheet
"Upload your entries to swap" : upload your entries CSV, fill it from a build, then open Swap. See Upload your entries.
"No filled entries" with "Upload and fill an entries file to use Swap." : fill the entries from a build, then reopen the sheet. See Contest Setup and Fill.
"Swap not available" with "Swap is only supported for classic-mode team sports." : the slate is a showdown or single-game slate, or the sport has no late swap. See What Late Swap does.
"Close unavailable while the swap saves" : wait for the Saved. line, then close.
Preview
"No swappable entries selected." : every entry you ticked is fully locked. Press All swappable.
"No unique swappable lineups found." : the selected entries hold no lineup with an open seat.
"No out players found in the player pool" : the player pool no longer marks any of your players as out. Use Re-optimize instead of Replace outs.
"Pick the player to swap out and his replacement." : pick a player in Swap out and one in Swap in.
"The player you chose to swap out has locked. Pick another player." / "The replacement you chose has locked. Pick another player." : that player's game started while the sheet was open. Pick a player from a later game.
"The replacement you chose is no longer available. Pick another player." : the Swap in player left the player pool, for example after a late scratch.
"Swap preview failed" : press Preview Swaps again. If it repeats, reload the page and try once more.
On a phone the swap runs in the cloud, and three more messages exist:
"A swap is already running. Wait for it to finish." : a second device or a second press started a swap on the same entries. Wait for it to end.
"The swap couldn't run right now. Try again shortly." : wait a moment and press Preview Swaps again.
"The swap didn't finish. Try again." : the swap ran out of time. Select fewer entries and preview again.
"Late swap is updating. Try again in a few minutes." : DFS Hero is updating the swap service. This shows on a phone and in Hero Chat. Wait a few minutes, then try again.
Results
"Nothing to swap" with "No out players found in the selected entries' lineups." : select the entries that show the warning icon, or switch to Re-optimize.
"Nothing to swap" with "No unlocked slots found in the selected entries." : every seat in the selected entries is locked.
"Nothing to swap" with "The replacement does not fit any selected entry." : the Swap in player breaks the salary cap or the roster rules in every selected entry. Pick a cheaper replacement or one who plays the same position.
"N Lines Not Swapped" : no valid lineup was found for those entries, so each keeps its current lineup. Widen the search: turn off Maintain stacks, set Swap uniqueness to 1, or pick Rebuild the whole lineup under Replace outs.
"#<id>: <player> does not fit (salary cap, roster rules, or it would duplicate another lineup). The original lineup keeps." : exclude that entry, or pick a replacement that fits.
"N Adjustments" : the swap changed something you asked it to keep. "Entry stack rotated teams" or "entry stack dropped" means the stack you had could not be held. A line that ends "that slot solved open" means a player in the entry was missing from the player pool, so his seat was filled. A line that ends "the current swap keeps." means Re-swap found no further alternative. "The original lineup breaks a build rule, so it changed" means the entry broke one of the Build settings, for example a Max Exp. "No lineup met your build rules" and "a locked or Min Exp player did not fit this lineup" mean the swap loosened the settings for that entry so its out player could leave. Decide per card with Exclude and Include.
"After these swaps, your entries break your exposure settings: …" : once the kept swaps apply, the named player is past his Max Exp or under his Min Exp. "Not in your build pool" means a swap added a player your build left out, for example through Pivot. The usual cause is an excluded card that took him out. A Pivot replacement, or an entry whose settings were loosened, can cause it too. Include excluded swaps again, or Re-swap an entry. Apply still works if you accept the share.
"N entries missed the swap deadline. Preview again to swap their open slots." / "Every previewed swap missed its deadline. Preview again." : a game started between the preview and now. Those cards read Deadline passed and are left out of Apply. Press Preview Swaps again.
Apply
"A swap deadline passed. Preview again." / "A changed player's game started while this saved. Preview again." : a game with a changed player started before or during the save. Nothing was saved. Preview again.
"The entries changed since this preview. Preview again." / "The entries changed on the server." : the entries changed after you previewed, for example through a fill on another device or a swap from Hero Chat. Nothing was saved. Preview again.
"The entry set or its slate was not found. The swap was not saved." : reload the page, and upload the entries file again if it is gone.
"DEADLINE_UNVERIFIABLE: player lock times could not be verified, so the swap was not saved. Retry in a moment." : DFS Hero could not verify player lock times. Wait a moment, then press Apply again.
"Failed to save swaps" : check your connection and press Apply again.
After a save, the green strip can carry a warning:
"N entries missed the swap deadline and did not change." : those entries kept their old lineups. Preview again for their open seats.
"A swap deadline passed during the save. Check your entries at <Site>." : open the site and compare its lineups with DFS Hero before you upload.
"The swap deadline has passed. Check your entries at <Site>." : the saved swap is already too late to upload. The site will refuse the changed seats.
"A swap deadline is unknown. Check your entries at <Site> now." : DFS Hero has no start time for a changed player. Upload right away and confirm the change on the site.
Undo
"The entries changed since the last swap. Undo is unavailable." : a fill or another swap changed the entries after the swap you want to undo. Preview a new swap instead.
"A restored player's game has started. Undo is unavailable." : the site would refuse the return of a player whose game started. Preview a new swap instead.
"Failed to undo the swap" : check your connection and press Undo again.
Export after a swap
"Your entries changed on the server and the refresh failed. Retry the export." : press export again.
"Export blocked: some players have no site player id" : fill again from a build on this slate, then export.
"Export blocked: the generated file did not match your entries. Refresh and retry." : reload the page and export again.
"No lineups to export" : fill the entries first.
"<Site> would reject N of these lineups" : those lineups break a site rule and export as you uploaded them. Fix them with a new swap, then export again.
"Export failed" : check your connection and try again.
Filling after lock
You cannot fill entries once the first game starts. The fill dialog reads "Games have started" and your saved entries are unchanged. Use the Swap sheet instead. A scheduled cloud fill reports the same as "Skipped N entries because games started". See Entries errors.
Hero Chat
"Late swap isn't available right now. Try again shortly." : wait a moment and ask again.
"Late swap didn't finish in time. Try again." / "Late swap didn't finish. Try again." : ask again, or run it from the Swap sheet with fewer entries.
"Nothing to swap: <reason>." : the swap found nothing to change, for example because every entry is fully locked or the current lineups stayed optimal. Nothing to fix.
Hero Chat declines before it proposes a swap when the slate has no entries, no filled entries, an unsupported sport or format, a swap already in progress, or no swappable entries. Fix that condition, then ask again. See Late swap with Hero Chat.
