Hero Chat can run a late swap for you. You ask in plain words, and Hero answers with a proposal card. Nothing changes until you press Confirm. The swap then re-solves every open seat of every swappable entry, the same way Re-optimize does in the Swap sheet.
Power plan. Hero Chat needs the Power plan. The Swap sheet itself is available on both plans.
Before you start
- Open the slate and upload the entries file. See Upload your entries.
- Fill the entries from a build. Hero only swaps entries that hold a lineup. See Contest Setup and Fill.
- Wait for the first game to start. Before that, fill the entries again instead of swapping.
Step by step
- Open the slate in the workspace. Hero reads the slate that is open.
- Click the chat button in the top bar.
- Type a request such as "Run a late swap on my filled entries for this slate. Re-optimize the open seats and keep the locked players." Press Enter.
- Read Hero's reply. It shows the proposal card Run late swap on your filled entries. A line above the card can state what the swap will do.
- Click Details to review the swap settings before you confirm.
- Click Confirm. The card reads Running, then Done. Click Cancel to drop the proposal. Nothing changes on a cancelled card.
- Read Hero's follow-up turn. It reports how many entries changed.
- Export the file. Click the entries button in the toolbar and press Export, or ask Hero to export the CSV for you. Upload the file on the site before the next lock. See Export and upload to DraftKings or Export and upload to FanDuel.
Every control
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Details | Shows the swap settings Hero prepared. |
| Confirm | Runs the swap. The card reads Running, then Done, Cancelled, or Failed. |
| Cancel | Drops the proposal. |
| Suggestion chips | Buttons under Hero's reply, such as Retry late swap. A click sends that text as your next message. |
How it works
Hero's swap is the Re-optimize mode of the Swap sheet, run for you:
- It keeps every locked player in place and re-solves the open seats of every filled entry with the current projections.
- It keeps stacks together on the sports where the Swap sheet shows Maintain stacks, and it runs with Randomness off.
- Entries that share a lineup receive the same result. Entries where nothing improves keep their lineup.
- The result is saved to your entries with a swap stamp, so a scheduled cloud fill never overwrites it.
Hero never uploads the file to DraftKings or FanDuel. The site keeps your old lineups until you upload the new file.
What Hero does not do
- Hero does not run a swap without the card. Every change goes through Confirm.
- Hero does not swap one named player for another. Use Pivot in the Swap sheet for that. See Run a late swap.
- Hero does not offer Undo. Open the Swap sheet to undo the last swap.
- Hero does not let you pick the build settings. Hero's swap follows the build tab that is open: its exposure limits, locks, excludes, salary range, and player groups. To use another tab's settings, or none, use the Swap sheet's Build settings.
Tips
- Name the slate in the request when you have several slates open, for example "the FanDuel soccer All Day slate".
- Prefer the Swap sheet when a specific player is out and you want to see every replacement before you save. Hero's swap saves as soon as it finishes.
- After the swap, ask "Export my entries CSV." Hero proposes the export, and you confirm it the same way.
Troubleshooting
"Late swap isn't available right now. Try again shortly." : wait a moment and ask again.
"Late swap didn't finish in time. Try again." / "Late swap didn't finish. Try again." : ask again, or open the Swap sheet and preview a smaller selection.
"Nothing to swap: <reason>." : the run found nothing to change. Nothing to fix.
Hero declines before the card when the slate has no entries, no filled entries, an unsupported sport or format, a swap already in progress, or no swappable entries. Fix that condition and ask again. Every message is listed in Late swap errors.
