Film Room turns your real contest results into profit charts and tables. DFS Hero tracks every entry you upload, and the entries under your saved DraftKings or FanDuel username in contests that start after you save it. You can also import the contest history CSV a site exports to add past contests. From those rows DFS Hero computes net profit, ROI, in-the-money rate, a breakdown by sport, contest type, entry limit, and field size, and how your entries finished against the field. Use it every week to see where your money goes and which formats earn it back. Both plans include Film Room. The Hero IQ band on top of it needs the Power plan.

Film Room was called the Bankroll Tracker before. An old link to the Bankroll page opens Film Room.

Before you start

  • Upload your entries file to each slate you play, save your DraftKings and FanDuel usernames in Settings > Profile, or do both. See Upload your entries and Profile and appearance.
  • Keep your plan active. DFS Hero tracks contests on a paid plan, the $1 trial, or a gifted plan. Tracking is off while a plan is paused or canceled.
  • To add contests that tracking does not hold, such as contests from before you saved a username, export your contest history. On DraftKings open My Contests and click Export CSV. On FanDuel open Transaction History and click Download CSV.
  • Keep the file as the site made it. DFS Hero detects the site from the header row.

Track your contests

  1. Open Settings. It lands on Profile. While Film Room has no result and you saved no username, its Add your username button opens the same page.
  2. Under DFS Usernames, type your screen name in DraftKings Username, FanDuel Username, or both.
  3. Click Save Changes.
  4. Read the line under each name. "Found SamPlays in 34 recent contests" means DFS Hero sees the name in contests it saved lately. A username tracks only the contests that start after your save, so the found contests from before it stay out of Film Room unless you uploaded their entries. Import your history to add them. A line that says the name is in none of the saved contests usually means a typo, so check the spelling.
  5. Open Film Room from the avatar drawer, or press G then F. The pill beside the line under the title reads Tracking. Click it to see each site's username and the day tracking began.

DFS Hero tracks your contests in two ways. It finds every entry of an entries file you upload to a slate, in any contest, with no username. It also finds the entries under your saved username, in the contests that start after you save it. A username never reaches back: a contest that started before the save counts only when you uploaded its entries, or when you import a history file that holds it.

Tracking runs while your plan is active. While a plan is paused, tracking is off, and DFS Hero adds a contest only when its results arrive while your plan is active. When a renewal payment fails, DFS Hero keeps tracking during the grace period, and the contests show when the payment goes through. A tracked contest shows after DFS Hero saves its final standings, some hours after its games end.

DFS Hero saves the final standings of nearly every FanDuel contest, nearly every DraftKings contest with 1,000 or more entries, and nearly every contest in an entries file you upload. A smaller DraftKings contest that you did not upload can be missing, and so can a FanDuel head-to-head or a FanDuel golf contest. A private league is never tracked, because its standings are not public. Import a history file to add a private league, a contest that tracking missed, or a contest that started before the save.

After a slate locks, DFS Hero marks your contests Played: the contests your entries file holds, and the contests DFS Hero tracked by your saved username, which covers the contests that started after you saved the name. Point at a Played mark to see where DFS Hero found the entries: From your entries file, Found by your username, or both.

Import past contests

  1. Click Import history in the header and pick one or more CSV files. Before you have any results, the page shows a drop zone under Or import past contests in its place.

  1. Check the file list and remove any file you did not mean to add.
  2. Click Import N files and wait for the import to finish.
  3. Read the result toast. It tells you how many entries were new, how many were duplicates, and how many imported entries you have in all.

You can also drop CSV files anywhere on the page.

The header

The line under Film Room says what the page is: your DraftKings and FanDuel contests, graded against the field. On a phone the top bar holds the title, and the line sits at the top of the page.

The pill beside the line says whether DFS Hero tracks your contests.

PillWhat it means
Tracking (green dot)A username is saved, and DFS Hero tracks it.
Tracking uploads (green ring)DFS Hero tracks the entries you upload to it, and tracks no username yet. Add your username to also track the contests you did not upload.
Tracking paused (amber dot)A username is saved, but your plan is paused or ended. DFS Hero adds a contest only when its results arrive while your plan is active.
Not trackingDFS Hero tracks no username and no upload of yours: you saved no username and uploaded no entries, a saved name is not tracked yet, or your plan is paused and you saved no username.

Click or tap the pill to open it. It lists DraftKings and FanDuel, each with its saved username and the day tracking began (since Oct 1), not tracked yet, Uploaded entries only, or Not saved. Below that it says why tracking is off or waits, when it does, which contests tracking covers, and how many entries your imported files add on the site the page shows that tracking does not hold. It ends with a link to Settings > Profile.

Import history adds files. Files (N) opens the files sheet.

The scoreboard

TileWhat it means
Profit/LossTotal winnings minus total entry fees across the filtered contests. The line under it gives the total spent.
ROINet profit as a percent of total entry fees. The line under it gives the total paid out.
EntriesThe number of filtered entries, tracked and imported. The line under it counts the sports.
ITM RateThe percent of entries that cashed: the entry won more than its entry fee. The line under it gives the count. For a satellite seat, see What counts below.

The files sheet

Files (N) opens the Imported Files sheet. It lists your imported files only. Each file row shows its site, import date, entry count, skipped rows, and a trash button. Import more files takes more CSVs.

After a canceled plan ends, Film Room hides the files you imported before it ended, and the contests those files hold, so the sheet does not list them. Import such a file again to show its contests.

Removing a file removes its entries from every number on the page. Delete all imported files removes every file and the history it holds. Your tracked contests stay, including a tracked entry that a deleted file also held. Neither removal can be undone, so confirm the file name before you click Remove.

The Overview tab

  • Performance Over Time charts cumulative profit and loss by Daily, Weekly, or Monthly grain. Show Trend adds a dashed straight trend line, which tells you the direction of your bankroll better than the last few points. The dashed line across the chart is $0.
  • Biggest Wins lists your top 5 entries by net profit, with each place written as 15th of 396,353. Click a tracked contest's name to open that slate's Entries view, where each entry's finish sits beside the field. Click the chart button next to the name to open the contest in the Contest Analyzer, on its Vs. Field tab. A contest only your imported file holds has no link. A FanDuel contest from an imported file has no chart button.
  • Takedown Metrics lists your takedowns: first place in a tournament of 100 or more entries that paid you $100 or more. Single-entry tournaments count. Satellites, cash games, head-to-heads, and winner-take-alls do not. It works for DraftKings and FanDuel, and it stays hidden until you have one. A FanDuel history file carries no prize pool, so that column shows a dash for its entries. A tracked contest carries the prize pool the site listed, its name opens the slate's Entries view, and its chart button opens the contest's Vs. Field tab.
  • Performance by Month lists entries, invested, winnings, net profit, and ROI per month, newest first, 12 months to a page. A bar beside each net profit grows right for a month in profit and left for a month at a loss, on one scale for every month.

The Contests tab

  • Finishing Position Distribution charts your finishes as a percent of the field. Tied entries share their average place. The bucket buttons set the width from 0.1% to 10%. The dashed Random entry line shows how often a random entry in the same contests lands in each bucket. In a big field it sits at the bucket size. A small field moves it: in a 6-entry contest, 2nd place alone is a sixth of the field. The line skips the 1st bar, because an entry tied for first counts as a win. Bars above it in the top buckets mean you finish high more often than the field. Drag to zoom on desktop.
  • Performance by Sport adds EV/Entry (net profit per entry) and ITM% to the standard columns.
  • Each of the three performance tables opens with a strip that splits the money invested. A swatch before each row name marks its part, and the share follows the name. The four groups with the most money invested get their own shade of purple, and the rest share one grey Other part. A bar beside each ROI grows right of break-even for a gain and left for a loss. The three tables share one ROI scale, so a bar in one table compares with a bar in another.
  • Performance by Contest Type splits Tournament, Double Up, Triple Up, Multiplier, Head-to-Head, Satellite, and the other formats.
  • Performance by Entry Limit splits Single Entry, 3-Max, 20-Max, 150-Max, and MME (150+). Read this table first. Many players lose in 150-max fields and win in 3-max and single entry.
  • Field Strength Analysis groups your entries by Contest Size, Entry Fee, Prize Pool, or Sport. Each category shows entries, stake, winnings, ROI, and each finish band from 1st place down to Below top 20%. Each band counts only the finishes inside it. 1st place counts every win, in a field of any size. An entry below the top 20% can still cash. Each band shows a bar to your count and a white tick at the count that the same number of random entries in the same fields reaches. Share is your percent of the category's entries in the band. Vs random divides your count by the random count, and shows once the random count reaches 1. A bright bar beats the tick. In Below top 20% fewer finishes is better, so there a bright bar sits under the tick. 1st place shows its share only: an entry tied for first counts as a win, so a random entry gives no fair count there. A field under 1,000 entries has no room for Rest of top 0.1%, because first place alone fills the top 0.1%. Open the Entry Fee tab first. A negative ROI at high fees next to a positive ROI at low fees is a bankroll decision, not a lineup decision. The Prize Pool tab shows when an entry in view has a known prize pool. An entry with no prize pool on record, such as an entry from a FanDuel history file, stays out of that tab, and a line under the tab counts those entries.

A tracked contest carries its entry limit on both sites. In a DraftKings history file the limit comes from the "[N Entry Max]" tag in the contest name; a name without the tag counts as single entry. A FanDuel history file carries no entry limit, so an imported FanDuel entry counts as Unknown.

The Vs. the field tab

Vs. the field answers two questions over your whole history: do you beat the field, and where. It compares your tracked entries with each contest's final standings. One week tells you little, because one big score swings it. Hundreds of slates show your real edge. For one contest, open it in the Contest Analyzer: its Vs. Field tab compares your lineups with the field and the top 1%, and Mine on its leaderboard shows your lineups there.

The tab follows the Site, Sport, and Date Range filters. A history file holds no final standings, so an imported file adds nothing to this tab. The line on top starts with Tracked contests only: and counts the tracked entries, contests, and slates it covers.

Every finish count sits beside expected: the count a random entry in the same contests reaches. The multiple divides your count by it. 1.50x means you finished there half again as often as a random entry. A multiple shows only once the expected count reaches 1, because below that one finish swings it.

PartWhat it shows
Top 1%, Top 10%, CashedYour multiple, with your count and the expected count under it. Top 1% is where tournament money is won. One takedown moves ROI more than many top-1% finishes do, so the top-1% multiple is the steadier read of your edge.
DuplicatedThe share of your entries whose exact lineup another entry in the same contest also played. A copy splits any prize the lineup wins.
Where you beat the fieldA table of your entries, top-1% and top-10% multiples, and ROI for each group of one split. A bar beside each ROI grows right of break-even for a gain and left for a loss, on one scale for both splits. Pick the split with the Ownership and Lineups tabs. On a phone the table shows the multiples and the ROI number only.

The splits:

  • Ownership splits your entries by how owned each lineup was inside its own contest. Chalkiest third means more owned than two thirds of that contest's lineups. Least-owned third means less owned than two thirds. The rank is inside each contest, so an NFL lineup and an NBA lineup compare fairly. An entry with no lineup data shows under No ownership data. Read this split to see whether being different pays for you.
  • Lineups puts the entries that played a DFS Hero lineup beside your other entries. A DFS Hero lineup came from one of your builds, a fill or late swap, or an export, before the slate's last game started. An entry whose contest standings hold no lineup for it, such as an entry left empty, shows under No lineup data.

For results by contest size, entry fee, entry limit, or sport, use the Contests tab.

The Hero IQ band

On the Power plan a Hero IQ band sits above the tabs. It starts closed, and its bar shows the headline. Click the bar to open it. Film Room remembers your choice on this device. Open, it gives a headline, a summary of your performance, contest tips, chips for Risk Level, Strongest Area, Best Format, and Avoid, and a Leaks list. The band names the history Hero IQ read, such as DraftKings ยท all time: one site's whole history. Matching insights also appear under the rows they apply to in the sport, contest type, and entry limit tables, when the filters match that history: that site, All Sports, and All Time.

Hero IQ reads the same rows as the page: your tracked contests and your imported files. It needs 5 builds before it writes anything. A new review can take up to five minutes after an import. DFS Hero also starts a review about an hour after it adds newly tracked results, at most once in 6 hours. See Hero IQ.

How it works

Tracked and imported rows

Film Room reads two sources: the contests DFS Hero tracks and the files you import. DFS Hero finds your tracked entries in each contest's final standings by the entry ids of the entries files you upload, at any date, and by your saved username, in the contests that start after you save it. When an imported row and a tracked row describe the same entry, Film Room counts the entry once and keeps the imported row, the site's own record.

Tracked results cover the contests whose final standings DFS Hero saves: nearly every FanDuel contest, nearly every DraftKings contest with 1,000 or more entries, and nearly every contest in an entries file you upload. A smaller DraftKings contest that you did not upload can be missing, and so can a FanDuel head-to-head or a FanDuel golf contest. A private league is never tracked, because its standings are not public. An imported file fills any gap. DraftKings and FanDuel never change a username. So when you change or clear a saved username, DFS Hero treats the old one as a mistake and removes the contests that only the old name found. Settings asks you to confirm first. A username is not locked to one account: DFS Hero counts every entry that plays under a saved name as yours, so save only your own.

What counts

DFS Hero reads each imported file on your device and detects the site from the header row. A row that lacks the site's required columns is skipped. A DraftKings row with an unknown game type is skipped; the recognized types are Classic, Showdown, Best Ball, Tiers, and Series.

Film Room reads the contest type from the contest name and game type. A name with " vs. " is Head-to-Head, "double up", "50-50", or "50/50" is Double Up, "triple up" is Triple Up, a quadruple up, a quintuple up, or a 4x or larger multiplier or booster is Multiplier, "satellite" or "qualifier" is Satellite, a captain or single-match game type is Showdown, and everything else is Tournament or keeps its game type.

A satellite pays a seat. A tracked DraftKings seat counts at its ticket value. A tracked FanDuel seat counts $0, because FanDuel's final standings and contest list state no seat value. An imported row counts the winnings the site's file states.

An entry is in the money when it won more than its entry fee. DraftKings and FanDuel split the prizes of tied places evenly, so a tie across the last paid place can pay each tied entry less than the fee. That entry is not in the money.

Duplicates and storage

Each imported entry has one key per site. An entry already in your history stays, and the incoming duplicate is dropped, so you can re-import an overlapping export without double counting. DFS Hero saves your imported history to your account, so the numbers follow you to another device. Your imported history can hold up to 5,000 files and about 260,000 entries. One import takes up to 100 files, and each file up to 40 MB.

What reads Film Room

Replay does not write here. The Dashboard's Film Room widget and Recent Results list, Hero IQ, and Hero Chat's results summary read the same rows as this page, one count per entry. See The Dashboard.

Tips

  • Upload your entries file to each slate you play, or save both site usernames once. Every tracked contest then shows here with no import.
  • Import a full history export once for the contests before your save. Duplicates are dropped, so export everything and let DFS Hero keep the new rows.
  • Set Date Range to This Year before you compare formats. Old seasons blur the picture.
  • Read Vs. the field over many entries. A top-1% multiple above 1.00x across hundreds of slates says more than one big win.
  • The page shows one site at a time. Switch Site to check the other one.

Troubleshooting

A contest you played is missing : it started before you saved the username and you uploaded no entries file for it, DFS Hero has not saved its final standings yet, its results arrived while your plan was paused, or it is a contest that tracking does not cover (see "Tracked and imported rows"). Check again later, or import a history file that holds it. In Settings > Profile, click Check the name to confirm the spelling.

Tracking paused : DFS Hero tracks contests only while your plan is active. Resume or reactivate the plan. Import a history file for the contests you played while tracking was off.

"No tracked contests match these filters" on Vs. the field : no tracked entry matches the site, sport, and date range. Widen the filters. An imported file never shows on this tab.

"Tracked results did not load" on Vs. the field : click Try again.

"Tracked results did not load" above the totals : the totals show your imported files only. Click Try again. With no imported file, the message replaces the page until the tracked results load.

"Tracked results did not refresh" : the totals hold your tracked results as of the last load. Click Try again to add the newer ones.

"Invalid CSV format. Must be either FanDuel or DraftKings contest history." : the header row did not match either site. Export the file again from My Contests on DraftKings or Transaction History on FanDuel. Do not edit it in a spreadsheet first.

"No valid contests found in CSV file" : the file parsed but every row was skipped. Check that the export covers contests, not deposits or withdrawals.

"Error parsing CSV file: {message}" : the file could not be read. Export it again.

"Error processing files: {message}" : the import failed. Read the message, then retry with a CSV exported from DraftKings or FanDuel contest history.

"Import failed" : the same failure as above, or a file the page refused. Your existing history is unchanged. When the message names a file size and a 40 MB limit, export a shorter date range on the site. When it names a 128 MB limit, import fewer files at a time.

"No new entries added" : the files overlapped earlier imports in full.

"Your imported history would exceed the storage limit. Remove an older file before you import this one." : your imported history is full. Remove an old file from the Imported Files sheet.

"Your imported history can hold at most 5000 files." : remove old files from the Imported Files sheet.

"Your imported entries could not be saved." : the save did not complete, and your existing history is unchanged. Retry the import.

"Another import was saving at the same time." : an import from another tab or device saved first, and your existing history is unchanged. Retry the import.

"Could not remove the file" : the file stays. Retry from the sheet.

"Could not delete your imported files. Try again." : the delete did not complete. Retry from the sheet.

"Your imported history could not be loaded" : click Retry. If it keeps failing, click Delete all imported files, then import your files again. Your tracked contests stay.

"A FanDuel history file carries no entry limit." : expected when every FanDuel entry in view comes from a history file. The breakdown needs tracked contests or a DraftKings history file.

"Hero IQ insights could not load." : the band failed to read your review. Click Retry.
