You do not need an entries file to get lineups out of DFS Hero. The Lineup actions menu downloads the lineups in Entries Preview as a CSV that the site's bulk entry page accepts, plus two detailed files with stats for a spreadsheet.
Before you start
- You need a finished build with the lineups panel open. See The lineups panel.
- The export is the working set as shown. See Selection methods.
- To fill an uploaded entries file, see Export and upload to DraftKings or Export and upload to FanDuel instead.
Download the file
- Set the entry count, the Selection, and the Rank by so Entries Preview holds the lineups you want.
- Click the three dots in the lineups panel header to open the Lineup actions menu.
- Click Download Entries Preview. The browser saves a site-ready CSV.
- Open the site's bulk entry page and upload the file. DraftKings: the Upload Lineups link on the contest page. FanDuel: the upload button on the Enter multiple lineups page.
The file shape
DraftKings
One row per lineup, one column per roster slot with the site's own headers. Each cell is the player name and the site player ID in brackets.
QB,RB,RB,WR,WR,WR,TE,FLEX,DST
Malik Willis (43727248),Bijan Robinson (43727327),De'Von Achane (43727335),Amon-Ra St. Brown (43727633),Jayden Reed (43727695),Travis Hunter (43727791),Greg Dulcich (43728247),Jahmyr Gibbs (43727325),Dolphins (43728539)
An MLB classic file has the headers P,P,C,1B,2B,3B,SS,OF,OF,OF. A Showdown file puts the captain's own ID in the CPT column. A golf weekend slate uses WG headers.
FanDuel
The same layout with the FanDuel slot headers. Each cell is the site player ID, a colon, and the name. A single-game file puts the MVP first.
The detailed files
Download Entries Preview (Detailed) holds the working set. Download Pool (Detailed) holds the lineups the Pool tab shows, in the Pool's order: the whole pool minus the trash, or what your filters and the Picked chip leave. With a contest picked beside Rank by, the order is that contest's. Both add a # column at the left and stats columns at the right: Salary, Proj, Own%, Optimal, Value. Player cells hold the name only. Once the slate has real scores, an Actual column follows Proj. An asterisk marks a total that is missing a player's score. After a simulation the files add ROI, Win%, Top 0.1%, Top 1%, Top 5%, Cash%, and Leverage, one group per simulated contest with the contest name as a prefix. Each group ends with Paths when that contest's sim tracked Win Paths. A Top X% column is left out when the contest is too small for that band. A chance too small to show at two decimals reads <0.01%, which a spreadsheet keeps as text.
How it works
Trashed lineups are never exported. Filter chips and FilterIQ do not change the Entries Preview files; the working set does. They do narrow Download Pool (Detailed), because that file holds what the Pool tab shows.
Every player must resolve to a site ID. When one does not, the download is refused and DFS Hero names the players without an ID instead of writing a broken file. On a Showdown slate a captain without a captain-variant ID counts as missing.
Download Contest Entries is a different file. It holds your saved entries, with the entry IDs from your uploaded entries file, for changing existing entries on the site. See Contest setup and fill.
Tips
- Set the entry count to the number of entries you will pay for. The file holds exactly that many rows.
- Upload the file as soon as you download it. A late roster change on the site turns a player ID stale.
Troubleshooting
The download is refused and names players : those players have no site ID on this slate. Trash the lineups with those players, or wait for the slate data to refresh, then download again.
"Waiting for the build import to finish." : Download Pool (Detailed) is disabled while an import commits. Wait a few seconds.
The site rejects the file : the file is for the other site, or the slate changed. Download again.
