The lineups panel is the right-hand panel of the workspace. It opens on its own when a build finishes and holds every lineup the build produced. You use it to pick the lineups you will enter, to browse the whole pool, and to launch a simulation. Each build tab in the toolbar has its own panel state.
Before you start
- You need a slate open in the workspace. See Open and manage slate tabs.
- You need a finished build. See Your first build and Build Settings overview.
Open the panel and read it
- Click Build in the toolbar, then Build in the footer of the Settings sheet.
- Wait for the toast Built N lineups. The player grid on the left becomes the Player Exposure grid and the panel lists your lineups.
- If the panel is closed, click the vertical LINEUPS rail on the right edge of the workspace. Click the X in the panel header to collapse it again.
- The Entries Preview tab lists the lineups this build would put in your entries. The Pool tab lists every lineup the build made.
- Under the tabs, set the entry count, the Selection, and the Rank by. With an entries file uploaded, the count is locked to the file and each contest gets its own FILL FROM picker.
- Click Pool to browse the full pool. The Pool tab has a funnel icon (FilterIQ) and its own Rank by dropdown. After a sim of two or more contests, a contest picker beside Rank by names the contest whose numbers rank the Pool.
- Use the two icons at the top right of the panel to switch between Table view and Card view.
- Click Simulate in the footer to open the Contest Simulation sheet. With entries uploaded, a Fill N button or Synced sits next to it.
Every control
| Control | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Lineup actions (three dots) | Opens the panel menu: downloads, playbook, groups, entries, preferences. See Lineup actions menu. | Closed |
| Entries Preview tab | The working set: the lineups this build would put in your entries. It never shows your saved entries. Each contest header has a pin, Choose lineups, to hand-pick its seats; see Set a lineup as an entry. | Active after a build |
| Pool tab | Every lineup the build produced. | Inactive |
| Entry count | How many lineups Entries Preview holds, 1 to the pool size. Hidden when an uploaded entries file fixes the count. | 150, or the entry count of your uploaded file |
| Selection | Which lineups make up Entries Preview. See Selection methods. | Balanced Exposure |
| Rank by | The metric that orders the list. See Rank by options. | Projection |
| Contest setup (gear) and contest accordions | Contest Setup, and one accordion per matched contest with its FILL FROM picker. | Shown with entries |
| Build stats details (chevron) | The average, minimum, and maximum projection, salary, and ownership sum of the lineups in Entries Preview. After a sim it adds ROI, Win%, Top 0.1%, Top 1%, Top 5%, Cash%, Lev, and Geo. The averages also show beside the chevron: on the line under the toolbar when you have entries, on the toolbar row when you do not. On a scored past slate, Actual is the average actual points. | Closed |
| Contest header numbers | After a sim, each contest header shows its ROI. A wider panel adds its Top 1%, or Win% for a contest of 100 entries or fewer, because its top 1% is first place. An open contest also shows its average projection, salary, and ownership sum on one line. The chevron at the end of that line opens Contest stats details: the average, minimum, and maximum of each, and every sim metric for that contest, Cash included. | Shown after a sim |
| Pool stats details (chevron, Pool tab) | The average, minimum, and maximum projection, salary, and ownership sum of every lineup in the pool. Filters do not change these numbers. A wide panel also shows the average projection, salary, and ownership sum beside the chevron. | Closed |
| Funnel icon (Pool tab) | Opens FilterIQ. See Edit the pool. | No filters |
| Simulate | Opens Contest Simulation. Reads Re-Simulate after a sim. | Simulate |
| Fill N | Copies Entries Preview into your saved entries, for the contests switched on. N counts the saved entries a Fill can change. After one Fill, Live Sync keeps the entries synced and reads Syncing... while it writes. Reads Synced when none differ, Paused after export · before the button after an export, and N differ · Locked after the first game when the only differences hold a started player. | Hidden without entries |
| Rebuild (toolbar) | Opens the Settings sheet for this build. Rebuild in its footer replaces the pool. | Shown once a build exists |
How it works
A build produces a pool. Entries Preview holds the top N of that pool under the active Selection, where N is the entry count, and Pool keeps the rest. Change the count, the Selection, or the Rank by, and DFS Hero re-picks Entries Preview from the pool at once. Nothing is rebuilt.
The entry count starts at the Entries Preview value from the Basic tab of Build Settings. With an entries file uploaded, the count is locked to the file's entry count. After a simulation, the count is the total of the scenarios' My Entries values.
The Pool tab is a browser. Filters you apply there narrow what you see, not what you enter. Trash is the only way to remove a lineup from Entries Preview, fills, and simulations.
Entries Preview is the plan. It shows this build's plan on every build, the build that filled your entries included. The lineups your uploaded entries hold right now, after a fill, a swap, or a prefilled upload, live on the Entries view. Fill copies the preview into them. After you press Fill once, the build keeps your entries synced. Change a selection method, an exposure cap, or Contest Setup, and your entries follow. An export pauses Live Sync so your uploaded file stays true; press Fill to start it again. See Contest Setup and Fill and View your entries.
Opening the Settings sheet after a build changes nothing. Only the Rebuild button in the sheet footer replaces the pool, and the sheet warns you first: Replaces your current lineups. This can't be undone. A rebuild also clears every simulation result for that build.
Tips
- Keep the entry count equal to the number of entries you plan to submit. Entries Preview then matches what a Fill writes.
- Use the Pool tab to check depth. If page 2 already looks weak, tighten your settings and rebuild.
- Open Build stats details before you simulate. A working set with an ownership sum far above the field is a cash-game lineup set, not a tournament set.
Troubleshooting
"No lineups yet" : the active build tab has never built. Click Open Build Settings or Build and run a build.
"Restoring this build's lineups..." : the build exists but its lineups are loading onto this device. Wait a few seconds.
"Built N of M lineups" : the build stopped short of the requested count. The line below names the cause, for example The pool ran out of unique lineups under these settings. Loosen your rules or lower Min Unique Players.
"Build failed" with Something went wrong while building. Check your connection and try again. If this keeps happening, contact support. : the build did not start. Try again. If it repeats, contact support.
