Rank by is the metric that orders the lineups in the panel. It sits next to the Selection dropdown on the Entries Preview tab, and the Pool tab and the Trash accordion each have their own copy. The Pool tab's copy orders the pool for browsing and does not change Entries Preview.
Before you start
- You need a finished build with the lineups panel open. See The lineups panel.
- The sim metrics need a simulation. See Run your first sim.
Change the order
- Open the Entries Preview tab or the Pool tab.
- Click the Rank by dropdown.
- Pick a metric. Every metric sorts from high to low.
Every option
| Option | Orders by | When it appears |
|---|---|---|
| Projection | The lineup's total projection | Always |
| Ownership | The lineup's ownership sum | Always |
| Optimal | The sum of the players' Optimal percentages: how often each player lands in the winning lineup across the simulated worlds | A pool built since Sep 20, 2026 |
| Actual | The lineup's actual points | Scored past slates only |
| ROI | Expected return per $1 entered in the simulated contest | After a sim |
| Win Prob | The share of simulated contests the lineup won | After a sim |
| Top 0.1%, Top 1%, Top 5% | The share of simulated contests the lineup finished in that band | After a sim, when the contest is large enough for the band |
| Cash Prob | The share of simulated contests the lineup cashed | After a sim |
| Leverage | The lineup's projected score against its ownership | After a sim |
| Ceiling | The lineup's high simulated score | After a sim |
| Floor | The lineup's low simulated score | After a sim |
| GeoMean | The geometric mean of the lineup's simulated scores, a consistency measure | After a sim |
| Win Paths | The lineup's Paths in one contest: the simulated games in which it finished in that contest's top 1% | On the Pool tab, for the contest you pick beside Rank by or choose lineups for, after a sim that tracked Win Paths |
How it works
Rank by drives three things: the order of the list, the metric Highest Ranked and Min Uniques use to pick the working set, and the tie-break Balanced Exposure uses. Under a Win Paths Selection the method sets the order itself, so the Rank by dropdown hides until you leave Win Paths.
The default is Projection before a simulation. A simulation changes it to Top 1%. When you pick a metric yourself, your pick survives a re-simulation.
When the sim scored two or more contests, the Pool tab shows a contest picker beside Rank by. Rank by and the sim filters read the contest you pick, and its name shows when you hover Rank by. The picker starts on the contest the Pool read before you picked one. Each card still shows every contest, and the picked contest's name reads brighter.
While you choose lineups for one contest (Choose lineups on its header), the Pool tab's Rank by orders the pool by that contest's numbers, and the picker hides. Hover it to see Rank by, in and the contest name. A lineup the sim did not score for that contest goes to the end. For a contest that fills by Win Paths and whose sim tracked Win Paths, Rank by starts on Win Paths, so the next card down is the next lineup Win Paths would pick for one seat. A Rank by you pick here holds until you click Done. Download Pool (Detailed) writes the lineups in the same order while you choose.
Tips
- Tournaments: rank by Top 1% for a few thousand entries and Top 0.1% for a huge field.
- Rank by Ownership and read from the bottom of the list to find your most contrarian lineups.
Troubleshooting
No sim metrics appear : the build has no simulation. Click Simulate in the panel footer.
Top 0.1% is missing after a sim : the simulated contest is too small for a distinct top 0.1% band. Use Top 1%.
The Rank by dropdown is gone : a Win Paths Selection is active. Pick another Selection to bring it back.
