After a build, the player grid in the middle of the workspace becomes the Player Exposure grid. Each row is a player from your lineups with the share of your entries and of the whole pool that holds that player. Here you shape a build after it runs: cap a player, show only lineups with a player, hide them, or trash them.
Before you start
- You need a finished build. See The lineups panel.
- The pre-build grid is a different surface. See Read the player grid and Player exposure limits.
Read the grid
- Build a pool. The grid header changes from Players to a Player Exposure dropdown with a Select button next to it.
- Read the Exposure column. The percentage is the share of your entries that hold the player, and the number in parentheses is the entry count. The Pool column is the same share across the whole pool.
- Use the position tabs to filter rows, and click a column header to sort by it.
Filter, hide, and trash by player
- Click the funnel icon at the left of a row (Show only lineups with this player). A chip bar appears above the grid and the lineups panel lists only lineups with that player.
- Click the eye icon on another row (Hide lineups with this player).
- Click the X on a chip to remove it, or Clear all to remove every chip. With two or more include chips, an OR / AND toggle appears.
- Click Trash shown (N) to move every lineup the chips currently show to the trash. A dialog confirms first, and the chips clear afterward.
- Click the trash icon on a row (Trash lineups with this player) to trash every pool lineup with that player. See Edit the pool for the confirm dialog and undo.
Use Select mode
- Click Select in the grid header. A checkbox column replaces the icon rail.
- Check one or more rows.
- Click Max Exp to cap every checked row at one value, then click Apply.
- Click Done to leave Select mode.
Switch views
- Click the Player Exposure dropdown in the grid header.
- Pick Stack Exposure, Team Stacks, Team Combos, Pair Exposure, or Game Exposure. Individual sports offer Player Exposure and Pair Exposure only.
- Every view shares the same columns. The Team Stacks and Team Combos views add a Stack: filter row with one button per stack size.
Every control
| Control | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Exposure scope dropdown | Picks which entries the Exposure column counts: Entries Preview or one contest. Shown with an entries file uploaded. | Entries Preview |
| Name | The player. Click it for the player details dialog. | Sorted by Exposure |
| Exposure | The share of your entries that holds the player, with the count. | Sort column, descending |
| Pool | The share of the whole pool that holds the player, with the count. | Read only |
| Lev | Leverage: your exposure minus the player's projected ownership, signed. +38.2 means you hold the player 38.2 points above the field. | Read only |
| Min Exp | The lowest share of your entries the player must hold. Editable, 0 to 100. Empty resets to 0. | 0% |
| Max Exp | The highest share of your entries the player may hold. Editable, 0 to 100. Empty resets to 100. | 100% |
| Max Exp header | Opens the Blanket Max Exposure popover with the By position caps and Reset all under it. A number beside the Min Exp or Max Exp header counts the players with their own cap in that column. | 100 (off) |
| Trash (Select bar) | Trashes every pool lineup that matches a checked row. | Disabled at zero |
| Keep only (Select bar) | Keeps lineups that match the checked rows and trashes the rest. | Disabled at zero |
| Max Exp (Select bar) | Sets one Max Exp value on every checked row. | 50 |
How it works
The Exposure column counts your entries. With no contests matched, it counts the lineups your Selection picked. With an entries file uploaded, the scope dropdown lets you count Entries Preview or one contest. The Pool column always counts the whole pool.
Min Exp and Max Exp after a build are caps on your entries. Set Max Exp to 50 on a player at 85% and DFS Hero re-picks Entries Preview from the pool so that the player holds at most 50% of your entries, under your current Selection and Rank by. These caps never change the next build. The build caps with the same names live in the Exposure tab of Build Settings and in the pre-build grid.
The Blanket Max Exposure popover caps every player at once. 100% is off. Under it, By position holds one field per roster position. A value there caps every player at that position, and an empty field uses the blanket, shown as its placeholder. Clear cap (Clear N caps when several are set) empties every position field.
Three rules cover the blanket and the position caps together:
- A player's own Max Exp from 1 to 99 wins over both, higher or lower. A player at 100 has no cap of their own and takes the blanket or their position cap.
- A player listed at two or more positions takes the lowest of their caps.
- The caps follow the exposure scope. Entries Preview and each contest hold their own blanket and position caps.
Reset all at the bottom of the popover clears the caps of the scope on screen: every player's own Min Exp and Max Exp, the blanket, and the position caps. Click Undo in the message that appears to bring them back. In a contest, Reset all clears only that contest's own caps. The Entries Preview caps still apply to the contest, and the popover says so under the button.
On a phone the grid is a card list with no column headers. The same controls open from the Tools sheet's Exposure Caps row, which appears after a build.
Filter and hide chips change what you see in the lineups panel. They do not remove lineups from the pool. Trash is the action that removes lineups.
Tips
- Sort by Lev to find where you are far above or below the field. A large positive number in a tournament is a bet; make sure you mean it.
- Cap a chalk player with Max Exp instead of trashing lineups. The re-pick keeps the best lineups that meet the cap.
- Use Keep only on two or three core players to build a tight set for a small-field tournament.
- Check Team Stacks after a stacked build. The Stack: filter shows how many entries carry each stack size.
Troubleshooting
"Computing exposures..." : the grid is counting a large pool. Wait a moment.
"Exposures return when this run lands" : a build or simulation is running. The grid returns when it finishes.
"No team exposure data. Build lineups first." and its siblings for games, pairs, stack types, and team combos : the view has no data for this build. Individual sports have no team views.
"Exposure constraints changed" : Auto-Apply Exposures is off. Click Apply on the toast, or turn the switch on in the Player actions menu.
"Min/Max caps are not enforced for this contest" : the contest's allocation repeats a lineup, so per-player caps cannot hold. Change the duplicates setting in Contest Setup.
