The Day View is the first screen you see when you open DFS Hero. It shows every slate DraftKings and FanDuel run on the selected date, one row per slate, grouped by lock time or by sport. The slates where you uploaded entries sit on top, under My slates. From a slate you open it in the workspace, upload your entries CSV, start or schedule a build, or run a Playbook. Once you upload entries, a stats bar above the table tracks how many entries are filled and when the next slate locks.
Before you start
- Sign in to DFS Hero. See Create your account.
- Know the top bar. See Navigate the app.
Step by step
- Open DFS Hero. The Day View loads for today's date.
- Click the date button in the top bar. A calendar opens.
- Pick a date. Only dates with slates are selectable. Click Today at the bottom of the calendar to jump back to today.
- Click All, DK, or FD to show slates from both sites or from one site.
- Click Classic to hide showdown and single-game slates.
- Type in the search box to find a slate by its words, for example
NFL Mainorkc dk. - Click By Time or By Sport to change how the slates are grouped.
- Click Open on your slate, or click anywhere on its row. The button changes to Opened once a tab for that slate exists.
- To return to the Day View from the workspace, click the grid button next to the date.
Every control
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Date button | Opens a calendar. Only dates with slates are selectable. |
| All / DK / FD | Shows slates from both sites or from one site. |
| Classic | Hides showdown and single-game slates. |
| Contests | Opens the Contest Lobby. See Find contests. |
| Playbooks | Opens your Playbook library. Power plan. See Manage playbooks. |
| Search box | Keeps only the slates that match every word you type. A word can be a sport (NFL), a site (DK, FanDuel), a format (Classic, Showdown), or part of the slate name (Main, KC). |
| By Time / By Sport | Groups slates by lock time or by sport. Each sport group gets an Open All button that opens a tab for every slate in the group. |
| Table and card icons | Switch between the table and the card grid. Hidden on a phone, on a tablet held upright, and on a small laptop screen with Hero Chat open, where the Day View is too narrow for the table and always shows cards. DFS Hero remembers your choice on this device. |
| Automate builds | Opens a sheet that builds every slate with entries, now or 5 to 30 minutes before lock. Power plan. See Schedule a cloud build. |
| Next Lock | Counts down to the next lock among the slates where you have entries. |
On a phone the controls fit on two lines. Playbooks moves to the menu under your avatar, and the table and card icons hide, because a phone always shows cards.
The slate row
Each slate is one row of the table. In the card view each slate is a card with the same buttons.
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Sport / Site | The sport and DraftKings or FanDuel. |
| Slate | The slate name, such as Main or a showdown matchup. A tag with a purple dot, such as 3 contest results, counts the contests with final results. On a past slate where DFS Hero tracked your entries, your own result takes the tag's place: your net and your best finish, such as +$120.50 · best 161st or +$70.00 · best 518th of 258,843. The field size shows when you played more than one contest, because the best place is your best finish share. A win reads 1st place. Point at it to see your entries, contests, fees, cashes, and best finish. See Film Room. |
| Format | Classic or Showdown. |
| Games | The number of games on the slate. A showdown is one game. |
| Lock | The time left to lock. It turns amber inside the last 60 minutes. After lock it shows the Started time. In a My slates or By Sport group it also shows the lock time. |
| Entries | Filled entries over total entries, once you upload a CSV, and an icon for where the slate stands: an amber warning while some entries still need a lineup, a green check when every entry holds one, a pulse line for a slate that is still running, and a lock after lock. Point at the icon to read its name. |
| Actions | The buttons below. |
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| Open | Opens the slate in a tab. |
| Download | Replaces Open when the slate has filled entries. It downloads the filled entries CSV. |
| Upload icon | Uploads or replaces your entries CSV. Closed after lock. See Upload your entries. |
| List icon | Opens the Entries view. Shown once you upload entries. See View your entries. |
| Build icon (hammer) | Opens Build Settings for the slate without leaving the Day View. Needs entries first. See Schedule a cloud build. |
| Replay icon (purple rewind) | Appears on past slates that have scoring data. It opens Replay for the slate. See Replay. |
Click the rest of the row to open the slate. Drop a CSV file on the row to upload the file as your entries.
The slate menu
The three-dot menu changes with the state of the slate:
| Item | When it appears |
|---|---|
| Open in Workspace | The slate has filled entries. |
| Entries Preview | You uploaded entries to the slate. |
| Open DraftKings / Open FanDuel | The slate has filled entries. It opens the site's upload page. |
| Download Entries | An entries file exists and the slate is not locked. |
| Upload Entries CSV / Replace Entries CSV | The slate is not locked. |
| Run Playbook | Power plan, on a live date. It lists your Playbooks for this sport, site, and format. On a past date it is Replay with playbook. |
The stats bar
The stats bar appears once you upload entries to at least one slate on the date. It counts your entry slates, the slates that still need lineups (Attention), your contests, your entries, and the sum of your entry fees. Next Lock counts down to the next lock among your entry slates and pulses inside the last 60 minutes.
On a past date with no DraftKings or FanDuel username saved, the bar shows Add your username to track your contests. The link opens Settings > Profile. Your uploaded entries get their results with no username; a saved username adds the contests you play outside DFS Hero. See Film Room.
How it works
My slates always opens the list. It holds every slate where you uploaded entries for the date, plus any multi-day slate you entered that locked on an earlier day and still has games to play (Still running). Still running slates come first, then your open slates by lock time, then the ones that already locked. A slate in My slates does not show again in the groups below it.
Your slates with entries also stay pinned at the start of the tab strip in the top bar, with a pin where the close button sits. See Open and manage slate tabs.
In the table, By Time makes one group per lock time, such as 1:00 PM, with the classic slates above the showdowns. A slate that already locked goes to Locked. In the card view, By Time groups by the part of the day: Starting Soon within 60 minutes, Morning before noon, Afternoon before 5 PM, Evening after that, and Late Night from 9 PM to 4 AM. Both views read your own clock.
On a past date, every slate other than your own sits under Locked, with its Started time. Slates with contest results carry a tag such as 3 contest results, plus the purple Replay icon. A slate where DFS Hero tracked your entries shows your net and best finish in place of that tag.
DFS Hero remembers your selected date on this device. A fresh visit without a slate link resets it to today.
Tips
- On a busy Sunday, type the slate you want, for example
NFL Main, instead of scrolling past thirty showdowns. - Group By Sport and click Open All to open every NFL slate in one click.
- Drop your entries CSV straight onto a slate. You do not need to open the slate first.
- Watch for the amber warning icon in My slates. Those entries cost money at lock if you do not fill them.
- A date with a dot in the calendar has contest results you can study or replay.
Troubleshooting
"This day's slates could not be loaded" : the slate list did not arrive. Check your connection and click Try again.
"No slates available" : the selected date and site have no slates. Pick another date or switch to All.
"No slates match" your search : no slate holds every word you typed. Remove a word, or click Clear search.
"This CSV looks like DraftKings, but this slate is FanDuel. Please upload a FanDuel entries CSV." : you dropped a CSV from the other site on the slate. Upload the CSV on a slate from the same site.
"Upload failed" : DFS Hero rejected the file. The toast shows the reason. See Entries errors.
"Upload entries first to build" : the build icon is disabled because the slate has no entries. Upload your CSV, then click the build icon.
"Slate is locked" : the slate already started. Uploads and builds are closed. Use Late Swap on your live entries instead. See What Late Swap does.
"Past slate. Use Replay." : the build icon is disabled on a past date. Click the Replay icon instead.
"No scoring data for this slate yet." : the past slate has no results to replay yet.
